I never thought I'd say this about a top Japanese bike racing boss, but I quite like this Furusawa. He comes across quite well, bit of a sense of humour and isn't shy with the technical info. Also, when was the last time a HRC official (for exmaple) said he had respect for a rider's style and wouldn't ask him to change it to suit the bike unless he had to? (As Furusawa said about Lorenzo).

be interesting to see if the other teams have found more or less than the 5 extra horsepower yamaha will have this weekend at Jerez. Guess we'll be able to tell by seeing if the top speed order (factory bikes) is still roughly: 1) Ducati 2) Honda/Kawasaki(?) 3) Suzuki/Yamaha.

MOTOGP » Yamaha: Five more 'ponies'...

"We have added five 'ponies' compared to last year's engine, but we will need another three or four by the first race" - Masao Furusawa.

hey,i'm not havin a pop a casey, he did a good job, but as said in another post if you had bikes with no fancy gadgets etc then rossi would deffo be the man to beat, don't think any of these racers can really be critisised by us mere mortals, any one of them would whip the backside off any of us no problem,i'm just a rossi fan so prefer him to win but if the racing is good thats all that matters, my life won't change just coz rossi didn't win (leave that to the football fans)

Nah... Casey used less TC than everbody else and kicked there ***** for it. If there is no TC Casey still would kicked his **** identicly. Casey phyc'd Vale out by Laguna, the Bike and tyres were still better, not to mention Vale's infomous Motegi Crumble chuck reliabillity Issuse and it was always Casey for sure....Hah Rosi never had a chance, This year willl be the same. Dont hold your breath for a Vale WC, next year depending on what satalite team he's with will give him his next real chance at 2nd place.

AFX - that would be sweet if you could post the Jerez test on YouTube. I live here in the States, and SpeedTV does not televise anything pre-season.

Thanks...

Ace ... "Casey used less tc than anyone" - Wrong ... again :) :) Melandri said he cant use it, aand that the problem is that tc doesnt work for him, to the point he almost uses none . as opposed to casey

As for "if there is no tc casey would kicked his *** " (sic) ... based on what? he never won a title without tc ... because all those 13yr old dirt track competitions dont count

Repetitive, boring, unoriginal...go change the record chu and come up with something new instead of using cut + paste! ;)

Yamaha has gained an extra 5 ponies, great, but I'm sure ducati has those extra 5 ponies yamaha is so happy about in their reserve. Historically when Moto GP changes the engine regulations the manufacturer that hit's it dead on usally maintains the upper advantage for the first few years. In the 500cc era suzuki were wining championships until Mick Doohan and Crivile started to do their thing, and when the 990cc era hit in 01, honda was the bike everybody feared and wanted, just like the 07 Ducati. I dont think Yamaha or Honda will be able to compete with Ducati this year and possibly even next year. They just have the right formula with Casey and the bike performance.
