If Laguna seca's safe enough for Motogp then so is Brands Hatch, If it moves anywhere it should go there, When will these people learn bikes don't work around silverstone, I can't remember a decent bike race around there in recent years, WSB was miles better at Donington in my opinion. This is probably a greed thing, Silverstone can pack more spectators in and has that multi million pound BRDC building for the Dorna mob to get drunk in while the rest of the fans are stuck outside with a **** view of the racing or what passes for racing at Silverstone, I doubt Donington could survive without the GP. This is bad as premier league games abroad as far as i'm concerned.

I don''t think Silverstone can compete with the sight of the Motogp pack streaming down the hill at Donnington in the dry or in the wet. It''s probably just Dorna tryin to do a Bernie and screw more money out of the track owners, just like he does in Formula One.

I live close to Donington but I have to say it is one of the biggest dumps ever. If they are to retain the GP then they need to spend some serious money on the facilities. I know they have spent money on the pits but the rest of it is appalling. Grat track but rubbish facilities and it feels very dirty.

Great let''s have a different venue and maybe Donington will wake up and spend some money.

I grew up just down the road from Silverstone & attended the Bike Gp's there every year throughout the late 70's & right up until it moved to Donington (All 3 days Without fail!) & it used to be a cracking weekend rain or shine!(Usually p****d down actually). That said i would still prefer the GP to stay at Donington,as Silverstone is just too complicated a place with about 7 or 8 different circuit layouts to choose from & as someone already commented the people who run Silverstone are only interested in the money-making aspect of Motogp so god knows what the ticket prices would be like!

This would be an absolute disaster. Silverstone is the most boring track to view racing from. If Donnington is canned Brands Hatch would be a much better choice, just look how popular the WSB round is in late summer.

To watch World class motorcycle racing, you need to actually see some racing. World Super Bikes have stopped using Silverstone and i can understand why, one corner viewing.

Do the promoters want to see plenty of parking for a race truck, but half empty seats?

Surely nobody would want to see the GP move to Silverstone ? It is a dull F1 track and watching BSB or WSBK there has proved to be terrible in racing terms. For all Doningtons faults, and it has many, the racing there is superb and it is a bike track. Sadly, I imagine this will cut little ice with Dorna. The GP is Silverstone bound and bike racing will be poorer for it.

You poor Brits as soon as you get a couple of riders that look like they maybe Ok everybody wants a piece of the action, in Australia before Gardner did any good most people thought MotoGp was a swear word, as soon as money looked like being made MotoGp was the flavour of the year, the best way to work out which track will win the rights, work out objectionably which track will make the most money, it doesn't matter how uncomfortable or bad the traffic will be for the spectators, just think money ;)

I have been going to Donny since the mid eighties. I have enjoyed every single race I have been to watch there. Brands is ok aswell, its just far away. I hope the owners of Donny spend some money on the infrastructure and remove the advertising boards that went up for F1. It took me nearly 2 hours to get out of the GP last year and that spoils it.The WSBK rounds are loads better because there is more racing. If its money Dorna want have two races in the UK like Spain and Italy. With Toseland looking good places would be packed out. Go J.T

Silverstone is run by incompetent fools, I wouldn't worry!

Donington is run by enthusiasts who are passionate about motorsport and who should retain the event, Brands is run by a hard nosed businessman who just happens to have a passing interest in motorsport.

MSV will announce shortly that they've acquired the long term rights to the BSB away from DORNA UK, not necessarily a bad thing as they did a pretty appalling job.

However MSV's ownership of the BSB isn't necessarily a good thing for the sport as they're also a circuit owner who host most of the BSB rounds at their venues, the whole thing stinks!

It does not look like Silverstone is very popular with race fans! and rightly so. I think Silverstone was an old airfield, very flat, poor viewing and if I remember correctly very places to watch the racing. Donington is easy to get to if you know the backroads. Is Mallory Park still in use? great place for racing and watching.
