Any guy that pulls into the pits & retires coz he doesnt like where he is on the track, is lucky to get a ride on a pizza delivery bike!

If Aprilia will hav him he better take it in a heartbeat, altho there is a BMW coming to WSBK, & Hoff is a German rider ...

I think you juge him too hard, there's more to the story than meets the eye.
However I doubt he will ever get a MotoGP seat again...

The rumour was he would race the BMW in 2009, probably because he is German. Chances are bigger he will ride the Aprilia in WSBK and I think he might do well with a year of testing behind him and his MotoGP experience...

The new guard has arrived at the wrong time for The Hoff, they've just made him obsolete and his only hope is WSB. All the Motogp teams will be looking for young guns from 250's or possibly WSB/WSS in future and any older guys who aren't getting results in Motogp will be out at the end of the season, Nakano, Edwards, maybe even Hayden. Even Rossi's golden shine is a bit duller this year.
Someone like The Hoff without titles and championships under his belt is going to find it tough to get back to a decent team.

If I were a MotoGP team boss, I'd look at 250 riders before I'd look at Hofmann. In all his years, what has he achieved?

As long as Hoffman sticks to a German or Austrian manufacturer, he will get a decent ride. It's a matter of Germanic pride, and do not under-estimate it. It is also a cultural matter of other Germans understanding the logic of why he did what he did, while the rest of us scratch our heads and think "what a stupid thing to do." Do not try to understand it because you won't and you will just drive yourself crazy trying.

Getting a decent ride anywhere else is a lost cause in any series.

Calvin. BMW is not racing in MotoGP. Its WSBK.

I thought Hoff lacked really talent, but seeing where d'Antin is now; I was a little premature in my opinion.

You don't have to be Germanic to have a fair suspicion what was going on in Hoff's head.
My reckoning is it was total exasperation. He was probably thinking "I'm barely half way over being slammed into by *ing Guintolli and they've sent me out on this piece of shhhh you know what. (Quite likely despite some disputing between him and the team which we won't hear about) Arghhhhh - Fuggit"! Prudent? No. Justified? Quite probably. Will it harm him? Um. As said above It will limit his choices. Probably only German teams will take him. But make no mistake they'll be a bit wary too - They'll wanna be sure he's not a prima donna. I don't think he is.. But then, I'm not managing a team.

it's not about riders in Alice Ducati...it's about their diffrent electronics then in Marlboro, now Alice D. will be like old Tech 3 Yamaha...Dunlop should comeback and sign with Alice new deal for 2 years;DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

despite that, Hoffman isn't a good racing rider...he may be really good as tester. AMEN.
