Any guy that pulls into the pits & retires coz he doesnt like where he is on the track, is lucky to get a ride on a pizza delivery bike!

If Aprilia will hav him he better take it in a heartbeat, altho there is a BMW coming to WSBK, & Hoff is a German rider ...

Reading the road tests on Aprilia verses Ducati Alex will have job for life testing before Aprilia comes up to speed and threatens Ducati in WSBK. Looks as though he was doing a better job on a Ducati last year than 3 of the Ducati riders this year

A quitter never wins and a winner never quits. There are plenty of racers who would sell their testicles to get a motogp ride and would never throw the towel in no matter how tough things are. Sh1te attitude - now hit the road Hoff and don't you come back no more, no more...

A winner never quits and there's no i in team but hey look there's one in platitude and look there's another another in trivial.
Parts of success include having enough self-respect to not take sh * t unreasonably and another part is picking your challenges / setting your own agenda.
It was bold. It might have been dim. But it was Hoff's call to make.
People who'd give their testicles or anything else to race in MotoGP should recognise it's a combination of talent and luck that'll get 'em there, not self-imolation or thinking in slogans. Just how Jnr is Jnr Kenny?

Hopkins Fan, what're you on about? I got no idea where you've heard that stuff about Germanic pride, but apparently you don't know anything about German attitudes. I reckon you're from the USA, and hearing, of all people, an American talk about 'Germanic pride'like that makes it sound even weirder. You were not being sarcastic, were you?

I can assure you that Alex got criticized here for his big ego an behaving like a primadonna more than anywhere else. And no, he ain't getting a decent ride from a German or Australian manufacturer. The only choices would be BMW and KTM. KTM haven't shown any interest yet and I doubt we will see BMW coming up with a competetive bike in 2009...

What this report and subsequent posts made me think that if all goes well for the european factories we're gonna have:

WSBK 2009: All 2008 factories + BMW + Aprilia + KTM. Now, that's 4 japanese factories against 4 european. I don't think we've ever seen this in motorcycling racing (maybe some obscure category in the 50s but I don't really care for that era)
Maybe in 2010 we'll even see Triumph in!

Nice thought Jack, would LOVE to see Triumph in WSB (being British and riding a Triumph myself)... Perhaps one day in years to come in MotoGP too... Gossip is they are working on a Daytona 1050 along the lines of the 675, which judging by the brilliant Gary McCoy's performance is almost competitive in its' 1st year out in WSS... Oops, off topic but an interesting thought anyway...
