It's got to be an improvement over that hound he rode in the first round.

No doubt Hayden has a good and a massive heart but maybe today the Motogp bikes are getting too tricky to set up, he rides with his heart but this not the time any more you can ride with your heart, 250 rider adapt well because you do need to ride a 250 quite smooth and Toseland did prove when you take your time you can do it, why does he need a masive rear disk when some of other rider don't even touch the rear brake, don't get me wrong I like him but I feel he his struggling, he looks hungry for riding but to me he needs to calm down, so many time in testing we can see him doing more laps than any other rider but quantity doesn't mean quality.

well whoever pulled the nationality card in this thread was a pro hayden wasnt it? so quit the bs
i like nicky, he s a great guy and a world champ, BUT, dani is just better - he s won more races in 3 years than nicky in 6. he s beaten him day in day out for a season and totally whooped him (injured) in qatar.
nicky won in cvalencia and got huge recognition for it that day, peopel were happy to see him win. u see nicky on tv ads in spain, on bus stops ... unlike in the us.
but the fact is he s not delivering in 08, and he did f.a. in 07. i d really like to see him up there again, but so far , he s getting beaten by his teammate constantly

interesting perspective chu. of course it doesnt really matter what any of us say or think because we all just speculate. unless someone here is privy to the conversations going on in his garage then all we can provide is speculation. if i may speculate, based on the interviews i've read over that past couple of years, and trying to read between the lines, it sounds to me like N.H. is frustrated by the fact that with all of the testing he does and all the info he provides, the bike keeps coming back to him pointing in the other direction. to make things worse, his times go backwards (minus Q tyres) but Dani's go forward (even injured). he would NEVER say it but... cont.

...he seems to allude to the posibility that Honda are just putting him to work but not listening to his input. this goes back to 2006 when by the third round he was complaining that the clutch in the "prototype" bike he was given to develop/race was not working. he had to try to race through it's deficiencies. while Dani was given the standard RCV to just go out and race, Nicky had to do the same but also develop a bike they MIGHT use the next year. he didnt get many wins on it but stayed in the top 5 almost every round on that thing. when 07 came and the cover pulled on the new bike he almost fell over. half the size of the 06. what to do but keep working i guess. speculation thou.

lol @ .

The time and effort did work thats the point.

The 2008 bike that Pedrosa rode was miles ahead of the 2007 bike, who did all the hard yards on the 2008 bike in testing while Pedrosa was injured. OH that was Hayden thats right, so if he was so bad at developing the bike as you seem to think why did it perform so well.

I'm certain that Hayden learns much in testing but getting Honda to listen is another thing all together just ask Rossi.

Honda had no option but to listen to Hayden over the off season and the 2008 bike looks like a better package then last years bike in part because of this IMO.

One simple 3-line(!) article that talks about Nicky, an american, to ride an american motorcycle in indianapolis an american circuit. Is there a problem?

Now what the kcuf are you slagging this guy down for? He's is doing his best.

He won the last 990 cc WC. He NEVER ever has a bad day. Even in front of "Dani the Kid", who can't seem to avoid his childish comments, he's just "cool".

If didn't win the last race it's not because he didn't try. What do you want him to do more on these "pseudo 250cc" bikes? They are easier to ride than a 250. Very efficient, but boring. Hayden's talent to control a bike is not required anymore, as systems do that now. Is that his fault? I think not...

MAT!! come on man, ive never seen anybody loose it in public like Hayden does your comment is way of. What about the crash between Hayden & Pedrosa (both on repsol honda's) i know it was Pedrosa's fault and yes you would be pissed off but how stupid was Hayden's reation...just an irrate yank, theres quite simpley to much tallent on the track this season and you want ever see him with the No. 1 plate again.

Nicky is a great rider. He grew up racing and winning in the States, not on the MotoGP circuit like the 250 guys, of course they do better their "rookie" years. Bring the MotoGP field to a track like Mid-Ohio and see who wins. Turn off the TC and see who is the better rider. And to imply that Nicky making a parade lap on an antique somehow gives him an advantage is absurd. The Bridgestone boys got a free day at Jerez the next round, on modern machinery...! Casey is awesome on his bike he turns up the TC and rides the dog out of it Bravo Ducati for showing the other guys that they are a serious contender. Now if they could just get the other riders to trust the bike and ride.
