And yes, it will be very interesting to see Biaggi vs Bayliss. Suppo is very smart indeed and this is a move that if done is sure to bring insight into what is going wrong with Melandri & Co.

It's so obvious that Ducati are lining up either Biaggi or Bayliss to replace Melandri in 2009.

The only thing to tempt Bayliss out of retirement is a top motogp ride. And we know he can ride the thing after the last performance.

I'd be amazed if either Bayliss or Biaggi went faster than Stoner on the GP8. Stoner is riding that thing as fast as it will go. He'll be right on it in China.

I think there's a lot of over-reaction to the first 3 races of the season. We should all be celebrating because it's game on - 4 genuine title contenders this season and unpredictable races - what more could you ask for (apart from banning electronics).

May the best man win.

Troy "could" be quick on the GP8 but I think Casey will be much quicker. Bayliss only really went well on the GP6 at Valencia when he had nothing to lose and a point to prove, the rest of the time he was mid field (no mean feat, don't get me wrong). The relatively docile superbike aint the same as the GP8 and I think Troy would end up getting hurt riding that animal. Troy is fast but he does crash and I think the GP8 would call his bluff.

What are Ducati going to do though if Bayliss and Biaggi are no faster than Melandri??? Build two seperate bikes, one for Stoner and one for everyone else??They will only do that if he wins the championship....

I doubt Troy d get hurt. No one gets hurt in Moto gp anymore really.
And Troy WILL retire after this season. And i very much doubt Biaggi will ever geta seat back at mgp

I am a huge Bayliss fan but I think Troy riding the Duke would only show whether the problems lie with the bike/tyres or with the riders. That might be valuable to Ducati but I don't think it would lead to development. As for Biaggi:- He couldn't ride the Yamaha because of front end problems so what good would he be?

i really dont think ducati's budget is as small as people think, i mean look at their sales in america...and when you go to a race meeting...its not like there's a shortage on ducati's

Ok i agree, they probably dont have as much money as honda, yamaha and so on...but they've been in motogp now for 5yrs now racing their 6th, i doubt they'll struggle to fund a season, they have one of the best bikes out there, a great couple of riders and a good group running the team.

Ducati's problem is like rossi said, they work like honda too much, if ducati had left the bike like it was from last season, why couldnt they be winning races this year? lets face it stoner was 10-20 seconds ahead each time.
