Rossi hasn't had a poor performance yet!
He is, after all, the leading Bridgestone rider.
And the only one to consistently be near the top of the timesheets wet or dry.

Caseys Buck Teeth - Sorry to disagree with you but Rossi's performances have been disappointing and not what one expects from a champion. It he does not win at China this weekend it will be an 8 race loosing streak with only one victory spanning the previous 14 races. I think anyone would (should) concede that that level of performance is unacceptable from a 5 times world champion. It looks to me that he is just riding for the money. Giacomo Agostinis record of 8 world titles look to be very safe.
I'm sure that many will vote against my posting, but the facts speak for themselves.

I shouldn't count him out yet Jacko, he hasn't disappointed me and I'm sure he will get back to his winning ways.

Jaco says: ''Caseys Buck Teeth - Sorry to disagree with you but Rossi's performances have been disappointing and not what one expects from a champion''.

On that logic, what is Nicky Hayden then, and old age pensioner?

In 2008 with no tyre data (the only man to be in this situation in the whole of Moto GP), Rossi is 3rd in the championship. That is an extraordinary performance. 3rd with ZERO tyre data with no team mate to help him!

So as 3rd is obviously a total lack of talent, we come to Casey Stoner in 4th place.
On your logic, Stoner has failed so badly in 2008 so far, he should retire?

You're free to support who you like Jacko, but please - be logical. :p

Grumpy Doctor - Please don't divert attention away from the facts. One win in 14 races is not world class and will not win a further championship. Anyway, it was Rossis own choice to switch to Bridgestone tyres. He choose Bridgestone as a quick fix to win this years title. not the 2009 title.

Err, Jacko both statements are full of facts it's just which facts you choose to suite your argument :)...Rossi is doing a remarkable job by anybodys standards except perhaps his own....which pretty much says it all.....

Jacko, its like everything in life: "its relative".

You must consider the achievement of something in the context in which is was achieved. I mean, see it as a "handicap" as in golf.

Grumpy_Doctor gave you the context, quite well founded I may say...Rossi's (& team!!) performance is "world class".

If the odds are bad, you don't have to win to be considered exceptional. Bayliss on his 1997 2-stroke GP didn't win but his perfromance was VERY impressive.

Anyway, you know what is meant... :)

WACO JACKO....I detect a bit of "Rossi Bashing" for no good reasons. We have seen 3 races up till now and at some point in those races Rossi led for awhile before the tyre gremlins got him. He has claimed a 2nd and 3rd in podium appearance for the 3 races. That does not seem to be dissapointment by any standard, unless Rossi have been elevated to a higher standard that all motobike racers. With many more races left for the 2008 season and him getting stronger and coming to grips with his Bridgestone tyre choice, those people that sowed doubts about his predicted losing season must now find other things to belittle him because he is not losing. Just enjoy the races Jacko and check back later.

To be honest, I don't care too much who wins it, but I would like to watch it!
The race doesn't appear to be on BBC2 at all - does anyone know when it is on (if at all) on terrestrial TV or digital as I don't have Eurosport/Sky. Thanks Guys.
