mark... "the series is supposed to be for the best in the world"

So surely anybody who finishes below him in the chamionship shouldn't be there right?

Edwards is a national MotoGP treasure. By far one of the most poular riders in MotoGP and hopefully he ain't going anywhere! When he does eventually go he will be sorely missed!

Can''t blame him for not wanting to go to AMA with the new rules that are coming.

But more to the point, why is he giving a "2 in the goo, 1 in the poo" hand gesture in that photo?????

In the U.S., that gesture is also known as "the shocker".
Perhaps Colin thinks others will find his announcement shocking.

I think colin is a bit old to be making shapes with his hands. I like the guy though and he still has a place in MotoGP

The AMA?He was surely hoping to avoid that ever since he began?
I as a USA bloke, have always considered the AMA series inferior.
As recently as 30 years ago though, everybody raced Daytona. And now?No one from Europe bothers with it at all.
And as it "NASCAR-izes"even more, the series will only become more
"marginalized" and less significant in the world of motorcycle roadracing--if that is possible?
I hope Colin finds a home wherever he fits. And I wish him well.Maybe it will best to retire when time at the "World" level is done?G.

colin was awesome in world supers but he really is well past his useby date in motogp , he should be shown the door for more younger talent rather than being allowed to earn towards his retirement fund . the series is supposed to be for the best in the world and colin has more than had his chance but it is time colin . onya way and thanks for the great superbike races .

Nice guy he may be, but another blunt year and it won't be his decision.
He really has to stop just going backwards during the races and pull together a sting of decent results.

hoping for a CE rebirth and more loco gestures.

whenever done with motogp, a wsbk return would be sick!
