Hmm, tyre problems eh! I suppose its a good job for Stoner that the engine did finally give up on him, otherwise complaining about tyres would have looked a bit like Rossi did last year would'nt it. I seem to recall Stoner brushing it off as just a Rossi excuse. Boots on the other foot now.

I don''t think this is too bad for Stoner. It is still early days in the season and three of the track they have been to are not Ducati/Stoners favorites (Jerez, Estoril and Le Mans). The others he did well at. He is still near the front in most sessions and races. For sure this is not going to be a walkover like last year but Casey is still a contender for the title.

Casey rode hard and the bike looked a handful through some corners, but it sure can accelerate out of them!
I think a lot of riders would of just parked the bike where it stopped but CS showed a lot of heart pushing the bike through the pits and and jumped onto the spare.
I hope at Mugello the Duke is more reliable.

The commentators said the team made him go out on
the spare bike. He didn't want to.

Still, bad luck. Even I don't want to see him, or
anybody else, losing points through mechanical
fault or crashing!

I'm sure he'll be competitive at Mugello, but has a
huge task ahead of him now to mount a title challenge,
as I can't see him winning anywhere near as many races
as last season.

Should make things interesting to see him try though!

Stoner did his best in the race, he fought to the front and tried to keep it there, that's what he is hired for after all.
Mechanical failure is a bummer, nothing much you can do about it.
41 points seems like an awful gap but Rossi came back from 51 points deficit in '06 with a string of wins so nothing is impossible. But can he stop the current Yamaha onslaught?

Stoner needs wet races to get back in the championship.
At Estoril, China and LeMans the MotoGP race just missed the rain.
Last year the wet races at LeMans and Doddington helped him.

Morgue, competition s too tough for such a comeback this year ...im not crossing cs out but he s got lots of work to do
the only reason why theteam made him go out again was because with such a pathetic number of bikes, if 3 guys crash out, then u can score a point even if u end up lapped 3 times

what Stoner needs is to be a man and stand up to Ducati, cos the Ducati team build the bike and Stoner has no say in set up or developement, unless Stoner cant develope bike or tyres. Why,after just a couple of races is Stoner complaining about tyres when Rossi has used bridgestone just a few times and has beaten Stoner 4-1 on the bridgestones.
Bridgestone, although were very reluctant to have Rossi ,they must be so happy to have someone who can develope tyres, cos Stoner clearly doesnt.
Stoners inability to develope bike/tyres is blaringly obvious.
Give Stoner the best bike and he'll ride well, like everyone.
Give Stoner a bike that needs a little developement and Stoner is rubbish.

pagoda. I wouldn't say Stoner is rubbish but I agree with what you say. I bet Bridgestone are not so reluctant about Rossi now though.
