Either of the Tech3 Yams could make the podium if a couple of the top guys have a bad race. Can't see Hayden or DePuniet running the pace at the front for the whole race, thats for sure. Depends if Rossi can work his way into podium contention.

They both seem to be saying that if you are not on the 1st or 2nd row you might as well not turn up. I wonder what they will be thinking when Rossi blasts past them "with both guns blazing" as Colin has put it.

To codger and whoever,

There are a few of us BRITS that maybe just a little bit biased. We may be a little bit "heavy footed" when it comes to JT. In all fairness, it has been a while that a BRIT has been at, and I say, the forefront, of the front of the running of the GP.
He has been to, approximately, 5 tracks that he hasn't even seen before, and while I am not considering that as a bad thing, there are people on here that are writing him off.
Give the guy a break. There are times and a place. Wait til Donny Donny Donny and we will see if he has what it takes.
He knows the track, he knows the fans, and Crash are playing the day before. Rock on.
The MAN.
The SINGER.
The RIDER.

I admit that I am biased, but, the boy did good.

Sorry Ratty, I wasn't having a go at James. Just saying it how I see it.
I want to see JT on the podium as much as you do..He has really surprised me since he came into MotoGP, I felt that he spent too long in WSB (7 yrs) Other british riders have passed him i.e Shakey, James Ellison etc. but now they are gone so maybe james IS doing it the right way after all. It is worrying that he is 27yrs old and the other Rookies are 21 or 22 though.

Perhaps Rossi is the exception to the rule codger. Depends on if he is stil having problems with his bike come the race.

But generally they are right. To be in with a chance of winning you ideally want to be in the first two rows. that obviously gives the best chance to come out of the first corner towards the front of the field and will hopefully help avoid the mid field squeeze through the first corner.
