The comments saying Casey is a one hit wonder because he hasn't won in the lesser categories are simply foolish.
As are the TC comments - ignorant at best.

Casey was always right with Pedrosa - who always had the best bike in the field.
Stoner did exceptionally well considering he never had a competitive bike until 2007.
Remember he put the LCR on pole in his second race, and very nearly won his third race.

Rossi is arguably the greatest rider ever and Stoner - to this point - is the only rider that can take the fight to him.
Last year it was Rossi keeping up with an inferior bike and this year Casey is doing just that.
Anyone who states Rossi is past it or Stoner never had it is a tool.

"To all Casey Stoner fans. You fell in love with a one hit wonder. The reasons are simple:
You hate Rossi so much for winning that anyone who managed to beat him became your Champ."

I think Dray supports Rossi because he's won so much.(Deserved).
Probably supports Man Utd as well but know nothing about football.

And i have been a huge Rossi supporter since his debut in the 125's.
He is a master of his craft and a great showman.

But i give Casey full credit for getting to where he is and achieving what he has.
His results in comparison to the other Dukes are telling indeed.

The same was said about Biaggi and Gibernau, the new class last year was an anomaly and everyone, stoner or rossi fans included know it.. Lets see how he does when there is real racing against almost competitive machinery...

Robert you are right. That would be the sensible thing to do.
I only came to this forum originally to have a little fun with Rossi fans but it all got
a bit obsessive and maybe out of control.
I don't even remember to watch all the races and often rely on race reports to form an opinion.
Anyway I don't mind if people imitate me, it's kind of ironic or is that moronic(?) really!
If enough people think I should actually stay on this forum after all, then I will register to avoid
confusion. I just don't want to use my real email address that's all.
People might hate me but I get the feeling I would be missed if I wasn't here. Everyone likes a bad guy right?

GO ON - register !!

Wouldn't have bothered with my post if i didn't enjoy the ODD bit of lunacy !

My posts might reveal that I'm a bit of a Rossi fan, for no other reason than that he deserves it - however this is admiration as opposed to hero worship (I think).

Bring it on then !!!!

Who says bein a stoner supporter means hating rossi? I've never doubted Rossi's talent.
One thing I'd like to know is why Rossi never got the "you won cos you had the best bike" treatment when he was at honda, which was without doubt the best bike of the late 500cc/early MotoGP era. If not for Biaggi, Honda woulda taken the top 3 WC spots 3 years running (they did in 03). The honda was the benchmark, something that can only be said about the GP7 if you look at stoners results. If he'd never riden the GP7, we'd all be saying it was a mid-field bike at best. I'm the first to say casey cant be compared to rossi this early, but the guy absolutely deserves credit for his achievements so far.

The answer to your question RXRacer lies in the 1st 2004 race in Welcom, South Africa.

RXRacer

As I recall, Rossi got plenty of stick about winning only because he was on the "Best Bike" back in 2003.

There were suggestions that this prompted his move to Yamaha - so he could disprove this. Me, I think he moved due to deteriorating relations with the top guys in Honda.

No serious MotoGP fan could fail to give Casey credit for his acheivemnts fo far.!!!

Ducati have a dilemma if the GP9 is very similar to the GP8. CS can make it perform so do they continue with their existing development where Casey is a serious title contender but no one else can achieve worthwhile results. Alternatively, they could change direction (return to a big bang configuration?) to make it rideable but maybe this would make it an also ran like the current Suzuki.

Over 2007 and 2008 6 rides have failed with their 800 (maybe failed is too strong for Capirossi) which is beyond a coincidence and there is a danger of Ducati running themselves into a cul-de-sac.
