Seeing as all this has got slightly out of hand.... could someone please inform me of the actual evidence for this widespread mass hatred of Stoner that occured at Donington?

Robert DONT BRING RELIGION onto this board.. It's bad enough with the "I hate your rider" beliefs we endure from certain sorts.

A1,
No I hadn't thought of that., But an interesting theory!!
Make up Marty & Ace to get through winter,
Then ditch them when the racing starts & something relevent to talk about.?!

Well on the straight/finish line we heard no booing almost everyone stood and clapped him over the line. Anyhow, with a helmet on, earplugs, and a very loud ducati underneath him how would he hear anything like that? The only boos we heard where after he had made a fuss on the podium. I think he exaggerated it because he had nothing else to whine about, but at least he spoke to the media this race he usually spits his dummy out in the privacy of his motor home. I'm suprised his sponsers don't ask for a refund. Perhaps when he grows up he will gain more respect. I had no problem with him last year he seemed a perfectly nice boy - but this year he has done nothing but moan.

Goodness, everyone is getting a bit personal on here. I have only recently started following Moto GP and this was my first time at Donington this year. I had an absolutely wicked time and, although obviously hoped Toseland put in a good performance (heartbreaking about his crash and like him all the more for his brave ride for the fans), I am pretty au fait with who the likely podium contenders are and was actually more concerned with the fun of watching the race. I was rooting for everyone alike and was really impressed with Stoner's win. Also I was on the big straight past the Fogarty Esses and heard no booing of him at all. Guess it was somewhere else on the track. Not all Brits bad!

The ignorance here is unbelievable... then again from a few of you i didnt expect much else!...

look how many British fans travel abroad to watch races and you dont any of these issues there from them. these are the motorsport fans. It was just unfortunate that the few who turned up for a one off spectacle made the most noise.

As has been said, its defiantely not a valid reason for their behaviour but Stoner doesn't make himself easy to like. He is great on a bike but his personality and attitude stinks when it doesnt all go his way! However he is young and if he wishes to he will be able to sort it... currently he resembles Max Biaggi in a lot of ways!

Scrap the British GP !!!

The track surface is "finished".

The crowd is unruly ... how can these people just POUR onto the track on the cooldown lap ... its so damn dangerous! Riders will get abused!!!

 :-o

it looks like you're about to lose F1, don't be shocked
if it happens in MotoGP You don't have much to offer, it's
a slow slippery and dangerous track, there are too many offs
and the sport has moved on quite a bit in terms of facilities all round.
And Phillip Island could easily go the same way too, although I
heard someone has had the foresight (intelligence?)
to start investing on a serious level.
Time will tell,

kind regards,

ricky
