Stoner is now quicker because of the ECU not TC, the more TC cuts in the slower the lap. The Duke had an aggressive power delivery which means the TC was working overtime, same problem Kawasaki are having. Now that they have tamed the power delivery he can wind the power on a lot harder without the TC interferring all the time which then produces quicker lap times.

Not meant to bash, but WTH is Melandri doing out there? Why is he still here? Like somebody said above, looks like he's trying hard to get out of his contract or is he just that bad on the Duke beast. It's bad enough consistently 2-3s slower than yr own team-mate but to be 1+ second slower than satellite bikes ???

Anyway, never rated him that high, though I thought he has come good these last few years after winning some good races and culminated in championship runner-up.

For you that remember the late great Daijiro Kato, in 250cc Melandri couldn't surpass him even with the superior Aprilia (Kato in the suppposedly 'more inferior' 250 Honda), except for several wet races.

Marc, by focusing on top speed at a track like Assen you are completetly missing the point. The other Ducs were quick down the straight as well, where did they qualify?

Take one Melandri, add a honda and put it in a factory honda garage until thick paste then serve on a track for action already!

Moaner does not appear to be in super happy spirits. It appears he lost the advantage the new electronics package gave him the last race. It will be a CLOSE hard fought race and it is likly that without some significant advantage, Stoner wont win. He will put a good fight, that is for sure. Expect loco lorenzo to be the fray..

Nicky wins? Buuuuuahahahahaah.... If he wiffs the podium that will be a new one!! buuuuahahahahhaha... Chances are Nick will be passed by Stoner, Pedro, rossi, Lorenzo, edwards and possibly dovi...

Stitcho I agree with you 100%.... but the groupies are blinded by yellow so don't expect it to register with any of them.


Qualifying was closer than expected, but i think Stoner's likely to bolt from the get go....
If he gets beaten my money would be on Rossi doing it, but i think he'll have his work cut out for him to do so.
The only other contenders are Pedro and maybe Lorenzo....
Poor marco could get lapped at that pace...
