Track knowledge or not its the bike that will let him down. Now if he was on a Yamaha, Honda or Ducati there might be a chance.

Top 5 is do-able at Laguna. Chris V got on the podium there last year and was a front runner in '06 if I remember right before the heat killed his tires/bike.

Chris V had a fuel problem not sure if it was electrical or mechanical

Heh... yeah maybe a bit bitter .

He only had 80 odd laps at Donnington so a test at indy is ok. It's still outweighed by his lack of experience compared to the others.

I agree, top 5 is a big ask with the top 3 riders pretty much owning the podium recently. It should be his best shot to show what he's got with limited experience though. Top 8 possibly.

Maybe...if he was on a Honda or Yamaha but not the Suzuki.

A lot of brilliant SBK riders have run in motogp - CE still hasn't won a race and he is a damn good rider, Bayliss never came to terms with the bike until his very last "comeback" race, Chris V slid to a victory - could have done it on a Jawa 500 single for how wet it was, JT is a great rider and still not there yet.

I think Ben has more chance of growing a leg out of his forehead than a top 5 finish. My prediction is 9th (thereabouts).

In motogp it is the number of laps on the style of bike, not the laps on a particular circuit that counts, that is why the apprenticeship riders (up through 125 & 250's) are dominating
