djh .. right sentiment but wrong timeframe. Gibernau didn't ride either the GP8 or GP9 until after the officia catalunya test when the ducati electronics were sorted. He hasn't had any input into the step forward. Having said that though it is good to see hime riding the upgraded version nealy as fast as Casey was on the bronco - and faster than any of the other ducati riders. Guintoli may even get the factory nod for next year if he continues to improve. Now he's into the top ten and starting to get a bit more aggressive on the thing. Hayden would be the best fit though - I agree with that.

We need young blood in MotoGP, not the return of old-timers. I say put Hayden on the Ducati and watch the sparks fly between him and Stoner. They both have egos that need "nursing" and they both know how to throw an ill-behaving machine around dirt-track style. We'll get some answers then!

Its all very saying he would have finished 5 th in the race ........... no he would not.

Like said before me, a race is not a 5 lap sprint, and a race has others riders on it, who get in you way and beat you up...... and are called Rossi, who would do everything in his power to make you look second best ........... AGAIN.

Sete is fast, yes. But he was never good enough to be No: 1.

Wiggy "Sete is fast, yes. But he was never good enough to be No: 1. "

No maybe not but neither was anyone else and he beat all of them by a fair margin 2 years running. He still holds the record for highest scoring runner up in Gp's.

He beat Rossi enough times on SATTALITE machinary more than enough times to rattle Rossi's cage. 06 was a terrible year and just as he was coming good (mugello race was a classic) he had the accident. When he hopped on the GP7 in motegi he lapped quicker than the 990's after 1 day!!. The guy is class plain and simple and more than deserves the ride just look at the grid (Melandri/Hopkins/Edwards/etc these are good riders but Sete is above them all! :-o

Does anyone know what tyres, Sete had on the bike when he set those times?

Bitter_Doctor, I don't know how you can say the Ducati is the best bike in the field. Looking at the results, the Ducati looks as if it is the 3rd best bike in the field with Yamaha and Honda in front. Look at the amount of Honda's and Yamaha's in the top 10 and the sole Ducati. That tells me the Yamaha without doubt is the best bike in the field.

I also wonder if the Fiat Yamaha team riders share data? With 2 riders with huge egos, I doubt this to be the case. Jorge is NO Mr Nice Guy, like Colin Edwards. I doubt they would even talk that much.

Go Stoner, keep up upseting these bitter Rossi fans.
