After watching the first 5 odd rounds I felt that Honda and Yamaha were miles ahead of Ducati. Ducati have found something, which Stoner like. I am not saying he is in the same league as Rossi, because that would be a stupid comment.

After the last 2 races, I think the Stoner, Ducati, engineer, tyre package have found 07 form and have become to best all round package.

IMHO, I think is Rossi did not have that off, the chances of Stoner going back to back were a 1000 to 1.

Stoner's 1st year were on a 1 bike, new team, so I dont look to much into those results.

Still looking at the performances of Dovi this year, I would love to see him on a Repsol bike in 09.

Read below what Grumpy doctor wrote in the F1 section and you will understand why the Ducati isn't the best bike,

Spain's Dani Pedrosa the MotoGP rider, has a 25kg advantage over the competition as he is only 5ft 2 tall. Unlike F1, there are no weight restrictions.
I wonder if Repsol Honda can alter the rules to fit Alonso's egO - build him an extra wide ****pit for his head perhaps?
Honda in MotoGP are the Ferrari in F1, they changed the rules when they cannot win!

As I can understand Stoner weight around 75kg,I wonder when did he got the extra weight? Can you explain to me Grumpy.

Gibbers came back - sorted the electronics and its back to business. Well done Sete!

So he must have done a course in "engine management systems" whilst he has not been riding in MotoGP :?

I dont thinks so and I dont think you need to know how it works

melandri getting the boot would cost one and a half years of his full salary to ducati, i reckon that s teh only thing holding ducati back

I think that at this moment in time,Melandri would be happy to just walk away and try and rebuild his shattered confidence on another bike.........and so would Ducati!!

Which seat will Melandri end up on?

Really anything bar a Honda or a Yamaha ride will be a huge backward step for him. Maybe West will be given the flick and he will end up on a Kawasaki? The Kawasaki is not to the same standard as 07.

Maybe he will finish out of 08 season in WSBK or WSS?

It will be interesting to see the doctor fares on the ducati. Settles of the question of stoner vs rossi once and for all. He hasn't put the pen to paper yet with yamaha, so I hope he goes to ducati next year.

At the moment Sete is doing one thing. Proving to the world that someone else can ride the bike fast. I think the European MC press have killed the other Duc riders by telling them it is a bike for Casey. When they ride slow they don't try harder, they just sit back and cry that it wasn't built for them.

In 2007 Casey was meant to be the "number 2" rider to LC and he just gelled with the bike. Casey rides to the Duc's design philosophy i.e the way it was pre designed (NOT designed for Casey). The man for the no.2 spot on the Duc is Nicki. Casey is an accomplished flat tracker, as is Nicki. The loose sliding style suits the light front and need for the rear to hook up that the Duc has.

Andy, I was under the impression that Stoner likes the front end to bite hard and consistently - he prefers a hard front tyre that will grip to the end of the race and that's why he tends to get faster - or at least be consistently fast - once he gets heat into it. He doesn't seem to be fazed by the rear sliding and jumping all that much although now it's stopped he is getting more traction and therefore even faster. Rossi is the acknowledged master of racing superbly even when his tyres are going off, he has every trick in the book there, whereas Pedrosa seems to fade quite quickly when his tyres get older

My memory of Gibernau suggests he was a bit like Pedrosa - very fast when everything was dead right but tended to lose speed when things went a bit off, certainly more than Rossi. I somehow doubt his test times would translate into race-length performance at that level although I give him due credit for achieving what he has done: I could see him shaking up the field at the front end for more than half the race, though.
