********

just as was predicted, no live FPs, Warmups, 125 and 250 classes,
and just think what will happen to live MotoGP if it clashes with the almighty F1
snooze-a-thons

Not to mention the dull BBC commentary team

thanks Dorna, you have just put the first nail in the coffin of the motorcycle World Championships

Fine, its on the Beeb, but 125 etc on the red button? I work shifts and if i am not in set Sky+ to record all the races and qualifying etc. Will I be able to do that with the interactive services? I dont know the answer myself but somehow I doubt it. This will probably kill MotoGP especially with decreasing rider numbers, WSBK has probably double the field and is still fully covered on eursport,so I can see WSBK getting better support from manufacturers, sponsors and the public.(only my opinion)It doesn't help when we keep getting runaway victories, but upto now we have had the 125s to make up for this.

ok Charlie needs to go & commentate on grass growing!
BBc you need to give us what we have now on eurosport & some, if you want the viewing fiqures. otherwise moto gp R.I.P.
I think suzi would work well with Randy(just let her be more of herself.on the gadget show shes a bit more her self)
if the Beeb do not get this right, this fan of 30 odd years will stop watching moto gp.

Also as a note to eurosport, please replace the stand in muppets on WSB when jamie & jack cover BSB. I have already stopped watching any round that those muppits comment on!

long live motorcycling. :? :?

I agree with Frog, those WSB stand ins were unlistenable. We seem to have 95% agreement (at least) that the bottom line now seems to be that if the BBC change the commentary team (wisely) and make practice, qualifying and the support class races recordable things will be ok.
All race series go through phases of being more or less entertaining(although F1 has been rubbish for 25 years and its sheep-like audience don't know any better -I actually had one F1 fan say to me, "Because the overtaking is so rare, it makes it more exciting when it does happen."!)but the small grids in MotoGP are an emnbarrassment and Dorna needs to address the problem.

Interactive is all well and good. But the issue is that you can''t record interactive through sky so if you aren''t in you will miss it. Eurosport nearly always run free practice and qualifying sessions and when people work the likelyhood of being able to watch them live is not very likely. Yes you can watch on iplayer but the quality is not the same as on the big living room TV.

I'm glad the BBC have extended their deal. I don't have cable or satellite and I don't want to have to get it. I couldn't care less what the Eurosport commentary team are like, you can't miss what you've never had. Having said that I do think Charlie Cox is a prat, Steve Parrish is ok now he's stopped going on about how Rossi's going to regret changing tyres, Suzi's great - good rapport with riders and gets good comments from them, and Matt is likeable and asks sensible questions in parc ferme. So just change Coxy for me.

I would prefer clear listings of what's going to be on the BBCi channels, AFAIK I can't bring up the schedule on my EPG.

Get these guys to cover the races for the BBC: Toby Moody, Julian Ryder and Randy Mamola. Sorry but the current commentators bore the hell out of me.

I posted a list of things I didn't like about Moody etc. 15 people disagreed. Since then there has been overwhelming support for them. No one actually said why they like these things I pointed out. :?

I used to flick over to BBC from Eurosport when the adverts came on....what a difference. It goes from excited commentary (eurosport)to what can only be described as two blokes quietly chatting to each other (BBC). Commentary makes a difference, try watching with the sound turned down, it's dull, and to me that's what makes Toby/Julian/Randy a better team, they seem excited by the sport, even after all these years. I agree that it can be a bit pally at times, but that seems to be more in between races rather than during the race itself. Steve Parish is ok, I like his insights as an ex rider, I just don't think he's a good commentator, he would be better as a reporter like Randy.
