********

just as was predicted, no live FPs, Warmups, 125 and 250 classes,
and just think what will happen to live MotoGP if it clashes with the almighty F1
snooze-a-thons

Not to mention the dull BBC commentary team

thanks Dorna, you have just put the first nail in the coffin of the motorcycle World Championships

Plymouth, Good post , defended your blokes well. I'll admit they have a big following and you can't fault their enthusiasm. What is a shame for me though, as a long time respector of Randy, is that half the time you can't hear him. As a rider he was very popular both for his ability on the bike and for his antics off it. He was the first guy to bring fun into racing, poor Rossi is castigated for it.

gambalunga i believe im right that it definitly means that most of everything outside of the actual motogp race wont be recordable, Belinda has sort of dodged that part so far.

codger, i agree completely about how good randy is, its interesting as when he does get to speak - as you put it :p you can pick up an awful lot and his experience and dryness is really interesting to listen too.
its funny, i never really looked up to as a racer, just because he had the record of 'the most succesful rider to never win a world championship'
so i just thought he was a loser, but informative to listen too. Of course ive been cultured since and he got to ride the achingly georgous cagiva 500. a legend

If we cannot record the 125's, 250's and QP's, it's not too good. The 125's this year have been fantastic. And nomatter how dedicated you are, you can't always guarantee you'll be able to sit in front of the box for most of the race day.

I guess that's just another negative point about the coverage moving to BBC. (Unless of course they've got something new in the pipeline to allow the recording/Sky+ing of Red Dot channels).

I, like many fans of MotoGP am gutted that Eurosport and the commentary team have lost out to the beeb. BUT, we can moan all we like, it aint gonna change a thing, the deal is done!
What we can do though is keep on at the bbc to provide us with good coverage and commentary. Moody, Ryder and Mamola do a great job and i enjoy thier 'fans first' type of commentary, lets just hope that the beeb sort things out.
Thankyou Belinda for getting involved in the debate here on Crash. I hope you will take our concerns to your bosses so that the coverage is comprehensive and of good quality.
Could i also suggest you take a look at the recent, excellent, coverage of the speedway finals at Cardiff.

I am gutted. I enjoy watching the practice from a friday when I get home from work along with the qualifying sessions which I sometimes record. Now I cant record or watch fridays action. Then theres the commentary team. The 125 and 250 bbc commentary is awful.
The best part of it is I got so fed up with the commentary I subscribed to sky in May to get away from it!!

Read a few of the previous posts and there seems to be a few people getting confused wrt BBC interactive?

BBC interactive CAN be recorded. We have a chep hard drive recorder from argos.

BBC interactive is also a few channels namely 301, 302 an 303. So even if there is a clash with another sport its likely the bikes would still be shown.

The crap thing is that BBCi is a BBC domain and thus is badly organised...ie generally they don't bother to give program listings ANYWHERE . Not on electronic pro guides, not on Text, not even on BBC interactive text! Nobbers.

ps Would swap randy for matt roberts. randy just seems to notice the samr thing day in day out "look at him pick the bike up.."

You all are spoiled ******s with your MOTOGP coverage. Speed offers the race and the race ONLY. We don't even get them live and they may show the 250 race a few days later after midnight. I would be happy with half the coverage you guys get with whomever wants to commentate.

No, you can't record BBCi on Sky+, so recording 125s and 250s and qualifying isn't possible, but like bri t, I record from my freeview box with my HDD/DVD recorder. You know when the 125s and 250s are on, so recording them is easy enough. A DVD or HDD recorder with freeview built-in can be bought cheaply enough nowadays, so if you want anything so badly, it's do-able. I bought my Freeview box for when MotoGP,F1 or WSBK clashed when I was on shift on a Sunday so the wife/ kids can still watch one channel on Sky+ without wanting to stab my eyes out when I got home!!!!
