Vale needs Dani to take points away from Casey. Without Pedrosa it's a straight fight between himself and Stoner and at the moment there is just one winner. I'm sure Vale wishes Dani a swift recovery.

A nice sentiment from Vale, no doubt about that. But lets face it, he really needs Pedrosa out there as he is the only other rider that could possibly mix it up with Stoner and slow down his points tally when Rossi has an off weekend. So theres more than just compassion going on here in my opinion. A cynical view perhaps, but probably a true one under the circumstances.

I agree that Vale needs Pedro for the champuionship, but in the past Vale has always had compassion for rider who got injured, like Elias. Rossi is also in Safety Commision.

From a championship standpoint, yes,Rossi needs Dani up front fighting too,but there could be times when Dani could take points from Rossi as much as he could from Casey,so his concern is still a genuine human compassion for a felow racer, just look at his reaction at China when his team-mate and vaunted 'rival' (the press built that up so much) took a rollercoaster ride, minus the roller or coaster, that was concern for another human being,no thoughts of the 'rivalry' or championship were in Rossi's head then.

Max you could look at Valentino's face when Jorge got shot to the moon as Vale showing concern or "Is this what MY YAMAHA could do too?". :p
Like almost every thread on this forum they always leave room for a positive and negative depending on which side of the fence your viewpoint is. I'm sure he did mean what was reported as all the riders want the others to fall off last corner BUT get straight back up for Pimms at parc ferme uninjured! Lets be honest now!

Prediction: If Pedrosa comes back from these injuries he will win the championship. You read it first here, and from a Casey supporter too!
