A fair assumption of one of the best tactical races i have seen in a long, long time, both Stoner and rossi used their strengths to try to win the race.

I just wish Stoner would accept the fact, that he was beaten by a better rider/tactic today, pity we have to wait until the 17th August, i hope it will be as thrilling as todays race.

Being a GP fan for longer than i care to mention, the sport needs atleast two riders who will hang it out there for the ultimate prize, i''ve seen the Spencer / Roberts, Gardner, Doohan, Rainey, Schwantz, Lawson battles produce some of the best racing i have ever seen, let''s hope this cycle is beginning again.

If you put both rider's behaviour into perspective, either Rossi wins or loses always praises such heated battles. Remember his remarks after Sepang in 2006, Catalunya in 2007 and this one? Always said he liked the fight, win or lose.

Now why aren't we seeing this from anybody else and especially from Stoner who is supposed to be the next "big thing"?

Ray von is right, that todays young guns, nomatter how fast, are nowhere near the status of the late 80's early 90's "bad boys". It's a pitty many of us missed that era.

Maybe Lorenzo is our best hope of reviving that era. Especially after his latest humorous comments he made a supporter out of me.

Experience is everything. Old experience beat the youthful speed and it was good to see. Although ended a little premature.

People are being a little unfair about the way Casey reacted. It's like when watching football, you always think the umpire is against your side. Rossi has done exactly the same thing in the past. He criticised Tony in 2006 for less. The corkscrew move was borderline but still fair although in F1 Valentino would have had to give back the position.

I want Dani and Jorge also in the mix and all four or at least or at least two or three to be within less than 10 points at the last round.

I think Rossi's tactics are what racing is all about, and that is winning!

Fair or nice has nothing to do with it, hopefully Stoner learns from this and deals with it.

Rossi has used similar tactics in the past when in a head to head for the championship and usually ends up screwing with the other guys head, see Max as a prime example.

Rossi's problem this year is that there have been Stoner and Pedrosa to deal with, my bet is he'll do what it takes to get 2 race wins in front of Pedrosa before he rides this way again against Stoner. Then again he may just attack Stoner either way he holds all the cards but some tracks won't allow him to do what he did today.

HA HA HA HA!!!! Casey Moaner has just proved that he's still just a drag strip rider. If he's off in the distance he's a happy bunny, if he's locked in a duel at the front he has no idea how to race the other guy. Rossi covered every line and rode a great race. Loved the pass round the outside of Stoner on turn 4 or 5 using the rumble strip as he'd ran out of track......absolutely fantastic. Casey needs to learn to fight for a win as he didn't have any answers for a fired up Vale. Oh and by the way i'm a Toseland fan, not a Rossi fanboy...... :p

Stoner's reaction was exactly what Rossi wanted to see.
Stoner's team should have told him to play it cool immediately.

Reminded me so much of Gibernau at Jerez.

He needs to keep his cool as I can't see CS buckling under the pressure.

I don't think there is a lot of aftermath, there were some emotional postrace words in front of a camera.
The aftermath It is being created by the press and they will have four weeks to make it bigger.
The racers themselves are profssionals, they will put it awaty, have a nice holiday and cross swords again at Brno.

If Ducati has a little sense of tactic: let Sete train on the GP8 during the summer break then get him in for the rest of the season targetting (I mean buzzing around) his old fellow. :)
Casey needs to calm down, he is capable of beating VR. He has the speed, he does not surrender (like Pedrosa) just need to prepare in the head.
