A fair assumption of one of the best tactical races i have seen in a long, long time, both Stoner and rossi used their strengths to try to win the race.

I just wish Stoner would accept the fact, that he was beaten by a better rider/tactic today, pity we have to wait until the 17th August, i hope it will be as thrilling as todays race.

Being a GP fan for longer than i care to mention, the sport needs atleast two riders who will hang it out there for the ultimate prize, i''ve seen the Spencer / Roberts, Gardner, Doohan, Rainey, Schwantz, Lawson battles produce some of the best racing i have ever seen, let''s hope this cycle is beginning again.

What a fantastic race! Racing being the operative word!:) Winning by 20 seconds on a rocketship (the only reason for any of the aussie whinger's success) is all he knows... when it comes down to getting into it with another rider and winning fair and square he is left wanting.. the fact that the aussie girl cites being so experienced and that he has been there.. done that... and knows what is fair and what is not, is hilarious, did he forget who he was racing against, the best rider ever with 7 World Championships in various categories and on different machines, that is experience. Put StonerMoaner on another bike and he will be nowhere.

Brilliant racing from both riders. But can't understand why so many posts are beating up on Stoner. He lost the battle for sure. But he contributed 50% to the best race we have witnessed since Catalunya 2007 (which Stoner won). The way you guys create posts I get the impression you wish Stoner was not on the track. Do you just want to see Rossi going around on his own? Many of you don't like Stoners attitude when he loses. Do you want hime to be happy that he just lost a race? Perhaps you need reminding that last year Rossi threatened to quit MotoGP if :
1) Yamaha didn't pull their finger out, and 2) he didn't get the same tyres as Stoner.
Fact great champions are sore losers

Morgue: Sete still has a certain speed (the test showed, in my opinion at the moment he would be somewhere in the front of mid-pack) and IF he can develope himself to fight for the podium on some tracks that would be very valuable for Ducati and Stoner. Lets suppose CS would still be the fastest man on the Duke. :)
I know Casey took out Giber in 2006 the last time and some might say that Sete would not help Casey because of this, but I am sure the desire of striking back on the greatest rival of his would be much more tempting for Sete...not to mention that at the moment he has nothing to lose, while Vale (hopefully :) ) will be under more pressure from Stoner and sometimes Pedrosa.

I knew CS was a sore loser, this just cements that fact. Having a rant at rossi and refusing to shake his hand is utterly childish. Maybe he should pay Rossi a few million dollars to let him past, as opposed to the money Yamaha pay him not to let anyone past. He should take the BOO boys on the chin, he certainly deserves it.

You obviously haven't seen F1 recently. Lots more overtaking than MotoGP and far more incidents. Don't let your prejudice make a fool of you.

Rossi''s win was one of his best. It was a high speed, high stakes game of chess and he is THE grand master. Stoner made a rookies mistake, simple as. He''s showed his childish impetuous nature. Just hope Rossi can now really get into his head like Schwantz did to Kocinski because Rossi is lord and Stoner is a rocket-ship-riding-whinger. It''ll be interesting to see what Hayden does on the bike next year. He''s a balls-out hang it all out kind of rider, like Stoner. Lets see how the ''Champ'' handles that.....Toys/pram/floor.....

@ Grumpy_doctor

> When beaten - lose graciously.

Now, my belief on Stoner (as a bad Aussie) has vindicated. Look at his reaction, "Okay we'll see!" I repeat again not all Aussies are bad. I will give one more gem of an example. Someone please tell that Moaner to learn few things out of that great (aussie) man called Cadel Evans :)

And, I've stopped visiting this forum because people indulge in so much of brick batting with all possible weird and stupid assumptions about Age, Life etc of other members! I suggest them to get some Life in the real world

Stoner,

Rocky Balboa said, it's not how hard you can hit that makes a champion, it's how many times you stand up when you fall.

Vale, thanks for the show :)

I hope Cadel Evans didn't react the same as the StonerMoaner when he lost the yellow jersey
