It was a real Race. Just ignore the Spoilt Brat. He is not happy when he comes in 2nd. He is not Happy when he comes in 3rd. He is not Happy when he comes in 4th. Practically the team had to push him to continue when he was coming in 16th. He wants to be first all of the time. Otherwise he wants his Soccer ball back and go home so that no one else can play if they dont let him score.

Well I'm unashamedly a Rossi fan but Stoner certainly impressed this weekend as far as his racing goes, it's nice to see him working for a result rather than just cruising off in the distance.
Good race ... more like this please!

If it is all so dangerous maybe we should let the start at ten second intervals
and time the laps, at bit like the Manx TT.
Give all riders 10 cm extra padding over their leathers and airbags so nobody gets hurt
and black flag every wreckless idiot that dares to touch a curbstone :p

Go Vale! :)

Of course Burgess has to stand by Rossi to keep his job, the last time he made a negative comment was in Donington during the 500 era because of a yellow flag , and it appear that Rossi wasn't too happy about it,I did look back at some comments made by Rossi when someone try to race him, most of the time he judge his opponent out of control or dangerous but when Rossi do the same this is always alright and not dangerous, I do have great admiration for Rossi but he is not a saint and most of the time the media are with him because he knows how to manipulate them better than anybodyelse.

RXRacer - I think your posts have been fair and balanced. The hatred directed at Stoner on this website has been unacceptable and quite frankly childish. The British fans (I'm British) have become extremely spiteful and one dimensional. If the other rider is not Valentino then he is a robot / miserable / unsmiling / idiot / whinging delete as appropriate. Personally I wish Rossi would retire so that these so called race fans would disappear and go back to their football.
I think Rossi's moves were tough but OK. Whatever Casey is or is not he is surely a fighter and I hope the Rossi fans will accept what Casey will now throw back at Rossi for the remainder of the season.

Motorcycle racing IS the hardest and most dangerous form of motor racing out there IMHO - deal with with it or LEAVE!!!!

Alternatively they should introduce a "gentlemans" clause into the rule book so that all machines are fitted with hooters - beep beep - coming through - on your left on your left - I say would be so good as to moove out of the way old chap - theres a good man - LOL!!!

Until that happens - get used to it - because Rossi will be riding his (and your) sox off from now until the end of the season.

Anyone for a wet-wipe?

RXracer - I don't disagree with you. Rossi had very little control over the machine at the tiem he was going over the dirt and did NEARLY hit stoner. Woudl you say he had any less control than when Stoner ran into the gravel at the last turn NEARLY hitting Rossi. I say nearly as they obviously had some control to A) remain on the bike (Stoner was unlucky to drop it just after running on) B) Avoid hitting the other rider. Stoner also ran on at turn 2 trying to pass Rossi, the fact he didnt make the corner there suggest he also wa snot in full control of his bike. The race was was excatly that...a RACE. Rossi made less mistakes in a tough battle and came out on top.

Well said Burgess, many of the races of the past few years have been as Morgue says, they may as well have started at 10sec intervals and the best times at the end the winner. The race was shock to many, clearly to Stoner, as no one has seen this from MotoGP in a long time. As I have said in past comments, they're both great riders, both world champions, Rossi is simply the better racer and by racer I mean he has all the cunning and tactics of an old dog and I mean this with respect. How many of us in this forum work with youthful brash individuals who have plenty of potential but lack experience, guile and an edge you can only get with age. Bravo to both for making a race in MotoGP again.

I think the people complaining are the football style fanboys who really have no understanding what they are watching but know which coloured bike they like. Taking part and coming second means nothing to 99% of top sportsmen and women. You have just watched 2 of the best put it on the line for the win. It's not the taking part that counts it's the battle followed by the win to these guys. Fanboys, You really are a sad bunch if you still can't appreciate motorcycle racing after Laguna. Next time turn over and watch something else a little less competative f1 maybe? But Don't watch wsbk as you will have uncontrolled fits of rage as this kind of thing happen on a regular bases.

Jacko isn't it time you moved to Austrailia? You've shown many times your ignorance and naivite about bike racing, constantly talking down ("these so called race fans") to anyone who likes Rossi rather than the minority of Rossi obsessives. Why not attack obsessive Stoner fans for a change?
