People keep harping on Nicky's 3 wins and saying its not enough. What about the rest of the grid who have been there equally as long if not longer with 0 wins? Should they not be in MotoGp either? Sounds like you guys want a field of only 3 or 4 riders, the field is pretty thin as is... I have been trying to figure out where the hate comes from and I cant figure it out, can somebody help me understand that part?

6 yrs 3 wins a championship and many podiums is hardly a joke. Not to mention he was top 5 his rookie season, and third in 2005.
It's more than some of the veterans have produced in their GP carreers. Capirossi has no Moto GP title, Barros no. Hopkins has been in MotoGP longer than Hayden on factory machinery(although not the best equipment) and has not yet won a GP race. There are others, Checa, Gibernau, & Biaggi to name a few.
You have to remember that ALL the current riders are competing against the best riders in the world, and I think Hayden has been able to hold his own. If all you GP fans were REAL fans, you would recognize this

It amazes me that some people can take a really good story on a rider that get's too little attention, who is quietly having a good season and turn it into a Hayden / America bash fest. I suppose the only reason Vermeulen has a ride is because he's Australian. Get a life!

Anyway, really happy for Nakano.

Y Nakano ? He's been around 4ever and done nothing for Honda, Yamaha or Kawasaki. He's finished 9th about 5 times this year, give the factory bike 2 Dovi, see what he's really capable of, not Nakano, he's a lost cause

Joe B - Amazes me too. As you can see, I am a Nicky Hayden fan and an American. Just irritating to come to a site where all there is is Hayden/America bashing.
I am also a Moto GP fan, so I hope the get a life comment was not directed towards me.
I am happy for Nakano. It was only a matter of time before Honda put another factory spec bike on the grid. Their development has not been as good as it has been in the past, so getting more data is important. With the help of another Japanese rider, the communication should be easier.
Does Dovi derserve to on factory equipment? Of course he does, his results prove that, but who's to say that he is not? Same motor as Pedro?

Wrong! Nakano was blazing on the Kwak 990. He did a great job in developing that bike. Kwak seems to have gone backward without him. Honda won't trust a first year guy like Dovi to develop a bike. Anyway, Dovi will be a factory rider - Nakano is developing the customer bike.

And I'm American and I just laugh at all the Nicky bashers. The guy won the championship and for a "thank you for not letting us look like idiots for letting Val go" Honda develop a bike for the other guy - yeah, the one who almost cost them the championship. Nicky should have left Honda last year. Can't image another manufacture not building a bike to suit the reigning Champ - and publicly admitting it. Embarrassing.

Right on Raw Dawg, and on top of that, he is an all round Mr Nice Guy, we don't hear any of the Stoner-personality bashing comments for Nicky. I feel for him, here he is with a dream offer from Ducati (we hear), that would suit his riding ability, and yet he still hesitates because of his loyalty to HRC. Nicky's only mistake in life has been to beat Valentino, well I say hang in there Nicky and DO IT AGAIN!

My comment was directed to anyone who thinks a current rider doesn't deserve a seat, because in my opionion, every rider in motogp deserves to be there. I think they are all exceptionally talented (unlike some in F1) and I really enjoy watching them. I don't like some riders on a personal level - those I get to root against. Gotta have that.

Joe B. - Right on.

Raw Dawg - I too laugh sometimes, but it gets irritating to read most posts that involve Honda that don't involve Nicky, but his name get brought up anyway with negative comments.

I hope he goes to Ducati.

I am anxious to see what another rider can do on the factory bike. Will Nakano's results get better or worse? Will Honda see that racing is more about the rider than the machine?

This summer break is too long!!!!
