If Sete''s the only rider other than Casey that can go quick on the Duke then give the man a ride!
He can only get faster....

RR75: so you think Melandri should stay and continue fighting West for the last place? Or what? Marco got so many points this year...probably Giber would exceed it at the last five races.
Giber was like this in 2006, however he was still faster. Now his head is clear and he has nothing to lose...unlike Ducati.

When he was at his peak Giblets was very good in a fight, that is untill Rossi got into his head. When he quallied well and led a race he tended to make mistakes.
I think if he does come out of retirement it will be for the cash, nothing else.

no i don't think Melandri is better.(in this case)
i just think that if Ducati want a podium finisher they need to look elsewhere...

and don't forget,if Ducati hire Giberau for the rest of the season the will pay three paychecks, and as you know Ducati does not have so much money behind it...
no one really knows what's going on in Melandri's head whatever it s it's pulling his career down and fast.
i just hope he sorts it out next season on a different bike cos he is a fighter, and his presence is missed in the front.

Still like to see Gibernau testing the Ducati on different track such as Brno, Catalunya or Sachsenring. Mugello always a difficult track for Gibernau on whatever bikes he had ridden previously.

I think Ducati is hedging their bets. And I'll bet Nicky will have to audition for a ride. They don't want another Milandri disaster! How about Bayless? He might well be tempted with a 1 year contract, just to put reverse his poor record (the one win excepted) in the premiere sport.

Has Sete gone broke didn't he get divorced,a divorce can cost much money, would Ducati be paying him for testing, just getting his leathers made would be expensive,so Ducati wouldn't get leathers made if they didn't have something in mind??? WSBK on this week in the UK IF Bayliss gets a lead in The Championship that he cannot be beaten would Ducati bring him into MotoGp for the final few rounds Sete and Bayliss are about the same size????

Interesting thought that - Troy in for one last blaze of glory, Niccolo in at Xerox... but I suppose Bayliss will want to give WSBK a season to remember him by, rather than going for a potentially embarassing head-on with his younger countryman. Still, I'd buy a ticket, and surely it'd make the battle for the wins in WSBK that bit closer!

Gibbers was at his peak 5, yes 5, years ago. After that there was a sudden decline. I rated him at the time but I can't see much in it for Ducati to sign him up now. He has proved that there is nothing wrong with the bike, so Ducati now know where any fault lies. So maybe that's all Ducati want from him.

I agree with RR75 / Hillbilly etc. Gibers has topped even before his retirement from racing. His test times are nothing but a PR stunt.I mean he circled the same track now for how many times?? Good for making news and fueling speculation. I think his ego (like all top class riders) would not allow him to be a stand-in, and Ductai knows they need somebody else to permanently replace Melandri. Gibbers now is good for development and testing, but racing? - I think not.

sorry for wading in late here, but saran Dorairaj earleir on: Just where and how do you come to this ridiculous, unfounded, baseless opinion that firstly "Gibernau is on Casey's bike", and secondly that the others are not the best that can be given to the riders as they and their manager/mechanics develop and set the bike up?

I cannot believe the continuing spouting of opinions as gospel fact on this forum by people who have no idea what they are talking about, for dogs sake!
