If Sete''s the only rider other than Casey that can go quick on the Duke then give the man a ride!
He can only get faster....

IMHO i think this is all going round as Sete want's a Factory ride in 09 and Ducati want Hayden. The third bike they offered Cappi is probably now signed up with Aspar for next year so they really cannot run 3 factory bikes. All sete is doing is proving he still has the pace to run at the front (this is fact look at the times). as yet it does not prove how he would do in a race, although i would bet he would be top 10 and ahead of every other Duke bar Stoner.

The only thing left is to wildcard him at Brno and see how he does (this must be on the agenda why else would they give him Qualy's at a race 'Test').

Sete was still able 2 fight with the likes of Rossi 'Even' at his home race of Mugello in 06 taking the Pole from Rossi & Capparossi & then giving rossi a battle 4 most of the race till some bad luck (his 06 season was full of that!) had his toe slider ripped off.

Ditto Turkey/Phillip island when his tyres fell apart at the front with rossi just nabbing 3rd from him in the last corner.

People who still believe in melandri & the 'Stoner's bike' theory rubbish need 2 open their eyes, Sete was and is a better rider, melandri is even weaker minded that sete was in 05, but HE did not Run rossi for 3 years solid as a one man band. Without question Sete would help stoner this year cud marco?

saran Dorairaj go back to ya little closet with your stupid comments . Where do you come up with your ideas??? gibers will only ride if he gets a contract from Duc for 2009 and Ducati are not ready to choose their second lineup for 2009 .... to say marco is not getting the support from ducati is pathetic .. Id like to see chris verm on the duc to see what he can do ...

All respect due to Sete for what he has done in the tests on the Duke. Some achievement in my opinion. However if he was given a chance to race I cannot see him troubling the top 5, so he wouldn't be taking points away from Rosi and Pedro.

Dark, I wonder if they put Gib out on qualy's simply because they show up different probs with a bikes handling. If he can manage them it even more shows Ducati that there is not a lot with their bike. I know he fell off but I don't think we need to read much into that, If he is testing properly then he is finding the limits, what do you reckon?

I don't see the point. They should get Hayden instead, he just plain tries harder. And Gibernau's times were very middle-of-the-road. How do they expect him to help Stoner in the championship when there's no way he's getting in front of Rossi with those times. Even Stoner himself couldn't hold back Rossi at the last race and Stoner is much faster than Gibernau.

They should concentrate on Stoner to help his championship attack this year and invest in a more formidable team by bringing in Hayden for next year to ride alongside Stoner. Better strategy IMO. Just forget about Gibernau he's had his moment in the sun.

I'm a bit suspiscious about all this Gibernau/Ducati thing.
Gibernau has now done many days testing on the Ducai and with his experience can only make the bike better for Stoner, cos Stoner can't develop a cold let alone a bike.
Maybe,Honda and Yamaha should get some ex gp racers to try their bikes, because there is a ban on testing at the moment apart from Ducati being at Mugello everyday????
Gibernau will not race he is just testing and developing bike. Why arent Honda and Yamaha testing everyday like Ducati.mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm somethings wrong here

Nicky, has already signed for 09 with Ducati... Earl has said the ink is dry. Nicky is just waiting to make the official anouncement. My sources are from people inside American Honda.

:D If Hayden signs with Duc he better win some races or at least podium or he'll be doing Supermoto full time. Which I can't wait to see this weekend. Anyone know the times?
