i agree Rico but i dont like the idea of single tyre rule. We must remember it was bridgestone who were struggling a few years back and there were no calls for a single tyre rule then was there?? i am all in favour of banning the electronics because it should be the rider in control of the bike!

apparently if you want to slow everyone down you just need to put them on michelins!!! ^_^

I personally think TC should go because it takes to much of the human factor out. The is a big difference between electronics and rider aids and that's the line I think has been crossed these last few years in racing. It's gone from engine management to management of rider error. I laugh when people say TC lets them "go full throttle sooner". That may be true but the engine isn't full open. This is now managed by TC when it used to be by rider skill. That is a problem because it doe make for a more boring race.

Is the show really any less boring than it has been in the past few years? When Rossi was dominate the show was "great" because he was marketable. But when Stoner does then there is a problem?

I think the issue is the polarization of the sport. If a spanish rider isn't doing good than ratings drop in spain. If Rossi doesn't win ratings drop in Italy. all this talk we need a Brit or American, blah blah. That's BS and marketing talk that has been pushed and people have bought into. like everyone else I have my favorites too but I don't tune out just because they aren't winning.

Single tyre isn't the answer and really hasn't changed much in SBK. odd strange weather result aside the same teams winning in SBK before the rule are the same ones winning after it. It's closer because the top teams are back. And not just a factory Ducati team on special Michelins racing a bunch of privateers.

michelin's problem is that they've out smarted themselves by developing a tire that works in such a small window that if the weather changes a couple of degrees it's pretty much over. Now that bridgestone is doing good, get rid of the tire limit rule and let michelin bring as many as they want and then see what happens.

What matters to most of us, Tim, is whether the racing is good at the front and down the field, not who wins (although I am a long-time admirer of Rossi). The Spanish and Italians embrace bike racing as we do cricket and rugby (not me personally, I hasten to add) so there is bound to be fickle element among the audience in those countries.

Dorna plays God by paying teams to take riders from underepresented or unrepresented countries (JT included, I am sure) and I understand this is partly the cause of their financial problems and hence the reason for ditching Eurosport and selling TV rights at high prices to national broadcasters. Unfortunately, in our case, that's the BBC.

Why not ban engines altogether and introduce a 'hobbyhorse' machine where the rider sits astride the rolling chassis and uses his legs in a walking motion to propel the machine forward. I would suggest that this would effectively not only reduce corner speed but reduce the cost of engines as well. Further enhancements to tracks too reduce the number of corner to say, well let's hypothesise, no corners at all will also effect a reduction in corner speed. Also ban the 250s (hang on aren't they doing that already) and 125s (only a matter of time) as they corner quicker than the diesels do anyway. What I'd like to see is a reduction in whinging especially from a certain Antipodeans! :?

Forgot to suggest, also use the latest Michelin front tyres.
Move over Expletive I need your seat, you haven't ruined racing enough yet I'm sure I can do a better job.

A spec tire is a nice way to level the playing field but doesn't seem condusive to the spirit of competiveness between manufacturers which, let's face it, does nothing but benefit the consumer in the end. In my humble opinion, bring back the 990 fire breathers and ditch the TC. I think the latter would help bring some parity back between tire manufacturers. Hell, maybe we'll see even more TM's besides Michelen and Bridgestones!

Here's to safer but competitive racing!

Time: "When Rossi was dominate the show was "great" because he was marketable. But when Stoner does then there is a problem?"

Not really mate, most of Rossi's battles in 04/05 were close. Soo many last few lap battles in 2004 that were great to watch. Laguna this year was great for the same reason. Casey has been so good recently that he's been dissapearing into the distance. Impressive but boring.

It wasn't coss Rossi was winning, it was great becuase there were so many last lap fights!
