Don't you guys think it's Bridgestone that determines the amount of laps on a tire?

He was doing tire testing, which I would imagine would be at the discretion of the tire manufacturer.

Are we that insecure that we bash him for everything single thing he does? You guys are unbelievable. Replace Rossi with Stoner in this article and you guys would be creaming your shorts.

I guess it's too hard to congratulate someone and move on.

My reasoning why he did 5 lap stints is because that is about where he fell off. So they were scrutinizing the tires to see what is the condition of the tires after the 5th or 6th lap at race pace. THe fact that he was emphasising that the were the same tires that he used in the race. But none of the other BS riders fell. Alright they were never near his time but Rossi was near his time and Rossi didn't lowside so nothing really wrong with the tires.

It is difficult to accept when your hero falters. My hero has faltered before chasing the WC. its some1 else turn now

cont
Ducati's cornern would have been the grip edge of the tire (FRont and Rear) which may have caused the fall and cost them the race. The way I look at it the lean angle at the point was over the limit. CS probably was late on the brakes and since he couldn't open the throttle earlier the Front end was too light. So in the Testing he kind of figured that one out and hence his awesome lap times.

So now we know the score, at least according to crash.net forum posters

Bridgestone tells Casey what to do

Rossi tells Bridgestone what to do

therefore Rossi tells Stoner what to do.....

Be intersting to see if Stoner can learn from Rossi, follow him around in the race at Misano, and deal to him on the last lap. That should keep it close, which is what most posters here say they want. And let Ducati win at home. Too bad that imposter Melandri is wasting valuable seat space on the other factory bike. Go the Desmo!

Saran - are you saying that opening the throttle puts more weight on the front end?

On the bbc handle bar footage he whacks open the throttle the instant before it lets go, the pressure was on and he tried full throttle before the apex and it didn't work.... reminds me of the gorilla golf joke where the gorilla drives to within two feet of the pin every hole which is then conceeded, at the end an enquiry is made as to his skills with the putter and the reply is he can hit it just as far.. :)

The Ducati is set up for top speed , therefore the would have stretched the Wheelbase by adjusting the forks forward. This gives a smoother straight ride Top speed but on the Corner makes the fork lighter . Thus throttling actually helps in the traction of the front tire. Not in the exact words but yes throttling puts more weight on the front end. I always throttle when i am in a turn. Have you tried taking a turn with a neutral gear. Just go ahead and try neutral on a fast turn and come back from the hospital and tell me what happened.

THAT may very well be the way that Stoner will take now: stay in Rossi's wake and play him the way he was played. And opening full on it late in the race.

Saran, no wonder most of your comments don't make sense, you don't know the first thing about motorbike's physics. When you open up the throttle, there's more weight being transfered to the back wheel and the front end lightened up.
