Kawasaki and the third bike

No matter the rider on any Kawasaki, be it BSB WSBK or MotoGP, they are on a poison chalice. Kawasaki are showing no signs of real improvement and in the case of superbikes are in the "also-ran" class. Third bike will have no impact on the development of the bike as investment needs to be made further up the development cycle, rather than when it is on the track.

The term polishing turds springs to mind.

MOTOGP » Kawasaki and the third bike

Contrary to initial claims, Kawasaki are set to confirm a third entry for 2009, possibly for Anthony West.

Give Alex Barros a chance to come back on the kawasaki and then we will see what the bike is capable of.

Barros? No, him on the M1 from that don't think he'd go too well on a kawasaki!

How can you say Kawasaki hasn't shown promise, last year was a good season and they had the 2nd best bike out there De Puniet just wasn't the right rider.

Kawasaki just got a bit lost on development (screamer engine) big mistake to do that but now and 09 they will go for it.

Kawasaki will win races in time.

Hopkins, Melandri and Bautista would be a very good starting point, Kawasaki have it in them, they have only been inhouse for this season too.

Give them time.

Also who gives a fcuk about Ducati being small etc Kawasaki don't have a huge budget for racing despite their company size.

So much negativity towards team green, blimey with the size of the grid in 2008, we should be applauding Kawa for
having another bike on the grid.

If it was a matter of being competitive there would be only three or four bikes (riders) on the grid.

There has always been factory, factory support and customer bikes (Privateers). When has a privateer ever won a championship? What's the point for them? When was the last time a factory support team won a championship? What's the point for them?

What Kawasaki needs is an additional development rider to help Hopper out. He finally gets the Zook competitive and leaves, which I will never understand. Perhaps he was tired of killing himself on the thing and finally went after the money. If so good for him. He has the talent, he just needs the right ride.

Wolfpac - Jon Ekerold 1980 350cc world champion - the last privateer world champ. I agree with you that it couldn't happen today.

Chris - judging by the 46 in your name and your comment you are obviously having a Giraffe - if Biaggi couldn't beat Toseland last year he certainly couldn't beat Rossi next year!

Westy should go to wss and rebuild his career maybe with Honda or Yamaha and then onto a possible superbike ride again with either Yamaha or Honda or possibly Ducati :)

Westy is too good for WSS, l think people underestimate the talent of anyone riding MotoGP. The Kawasaki is the weak link here not Westy or Hopper, Westy needs to go to WSB on a good race winning machine ( for the first time in his career )and get some cash in the bank!
