No matter the rider on any Kawasaki, be it BSB WSBK or MotoGP, they are on a poison chalice. Kawasaki are showing no signs of real improvement and in the case of superbikes are in the "also-ran" class. Third bike will have no impact on the development of the bike as investment needs to be made further up the development cycle, rather than when it is on the track.

The term polishing turds springs to mind.

MOTOGP » Kawasaki and the third bike

Contrary to initial claims, Kawasaki are set to confirm a third entry for 2009, possibly for Anthony West.

Does anyone really care if there is another kawasaki on the grid? Really who cares? The 2 out there now are rarely on TV, so no one will even notice..

Ant West Can take Craig Jones Spot (No offence intended) and just leave Hopper and Marco and if the have the third Kawasaki put a 250cc rider on it for development. IMO So far the superbikers not done well on kawa. shinya did somethings with the kawa at least. And we don't have to put up with the same old same old" Its a Track he has not ridden before" S hit excuses. Oh please. And next year " Its only the 2nd time I have ridden on this Track" Fcuk off.Put a 250cc guy on please

I care Speedy.
Any true fan should, we only have 18 bikes on the grid. Your point about TV coverage is accurate, but it applies to more than half the grid. What do you want, 6 bikes on the grid. At the moment there is only 2 riders in it that you could put money on for a podium. Something has to change but it's not going to be by keeping the the 3rd Kwack out of it.

Speedy, of course your point is very true if you are meaning the sponsors. Not much in it for them at the moment is there? Maybe there is something better coming tho, at Brno, for a while at least, they both had the beating of the Suzukis'. Hopper & Westy both said it was down to improvements made to the bike.

It'll be interesting to see how well Melandri does on the Kwaka. I recall reading in last season's Motocourse something to the effect that no rider could wish for a better opportunity to show what they're made of than a factory ride with Ducati...That didn't work out real well and he's not exactly going to a winning team with the men in green. Hope he does well, though. Seems like a decent bloke and I'd love to see a Kwaka up there. :)

Codger:if Kawasaki could give Hopper a half decent bike he would more times on the podium than not,it seems Kawasaki thought if we throw enough money at Hopper he will be able to ride any piece of crap that we build, but alas so far Hoppers Salary has not covered his medical expenses starting from his very first serious testing at Phillip Island in January and since then the heap of crap has tried to kill him on numerous occasions because he tried to ride the impossible ride, sure I would like to see more COMPEDITIVE bikes on the grid,I would not like to see one extra bike that is a danger to its rider or other riders,at the moment KAWASAKI'S results can't be helping Showroom sales

So desu:What have you against Kallio he is a great rider why would you want him to go to Killawaski and get thrown down the track and get injuried no rider deserves the Hopper's injuries of this year

chris46.... what are you thinking???

kawasaki is showing high potential, bad luck most of times... sadly.
but saying that it is stupid to bring a third bike is the most retarded thing i have ever seen on this forum..............

there are only 17 bikes..... not enough for all track battles and action..
kawasaki is giving motogp a boost in times that it is needed by bringing in a third bike, ............... they show balls!!!!

kind regards... :)
