He's unproven at this level and wants multi world champ money, he's not skint, if he wanted it badly enough he'd be there. Reckon he found out in Laguna that it's a rather big step up and would prefer to be a big fish in a small pond......

You Don't have to read anything. Don't Like it it is the fact more will follow.
If you want all the full specifications and measurements of the requirements of the crankshaft for AMA I can also give you those as well . I do not speculate.

Going to your other comment about PI and Maladin and corser. Troy Bayliss completely threw this agument with Malin and corser straigh out by being 1.6 secs faster 1 week later Yes I Repeat 1 week later . He was actually able to put his wsbk Ducati on 7th on the grid of the Moto Gp in 7th position. And to Go further Corser was Faster over that weekend Maldin packed up early.
Ducman you surely weren't there that weekend.

I have been reading your comments also on all the other topics and you really need to step back and watch a fair bit more of racing at roots level.
The AMA is far from WSBK and Dunlop spent a huge amount of money that weekend at PI . It was like a circus and also Matt was running the QT from Motogp tech 3 team to get those times and could only do 1 lap at a time. Troy Corser was very diplomatic that weekend and never said a bad word against maladin and also restricted his laps as also he was on the hard control race tyre .Troy Corser also nearly repeated Troy Bayliss's time on the following test after that weekend.

Kevin Schwantz even said it would be a waste for Spies to go to WSB because its a LATERAL MOVE. Yes, Schwantz said that. Once Spies learns the track, he will beat any WSB rider. Waste of time.

Why all the time wasted trying to discredit AMA, Spies, and Mladin? I could easily say no Champion from BSB or All Japan has EVER won the MotoGP title and only 2 WSBK titles (Bayliss and Hodgson). Does that make their series crap and riders unable to compete on the world level? The last time I checked the AMA has a loooong list of 500cc/MotoGP and WSBK Champs.

Let's not forget Corser was AMA champion before he went to WSBK and he didn't do too shabby - won the title in his second year I think. After Bayliss won BSB he was sent to AMA before WSBK.

Last i read Mladin never used a QT @ PI. AMA does not use qualifiers. I think your information is off. If you have the article I would love to read it.

Ducman1098R - I don't think it's fair to compare Alstares pay for Biaggi with Spies request in MotoGP. One was going from being a consistant top 5 finisher in MotoGP to WSBK, a step down in terms of bikes. So theorhetically it should be easier. The other is going from a not-very-well-respected national series and trying to make the step up to the world stage. Spies is an unknown quantity when it comes to MotoGP racing even with 2 races under his belt. Biaggi was a known quantity, therefore it's easier to justify spending more on him.

There is another side to a riders value. Biaggi WAS a known quantity..he couldn't (& probably never would) beat Rossi. So his ceiling (results/pay) was established.

Spies (like Lorenzo, Dovi, Stoner 2006, DP 2005, Nicky 2003) were/are UNKNOWN potentials. Their value was YET to be determined. Spies & his management are selling BS (oops) as a POTENTIAL WC contender & are pricing him accordingly. They just won't sell their "product" cheap.

Ultimately the market (MotoGP teams) will determine his value. Capitalism 101 class dismissed.

Raw Dawg - that's also an unfair comparison with Ben Bostrom vs. Mladin and Ben Bostrom vs. Bayliss. As much as I like the guy, he's one of the biggest head cases in motorcycle racing. When things are right he's awesome, but they are wrong more than right unfortunately. I don't recall all the details, but when in WSBK on the factory InfoStrada team he sucked, so they made a one-rider team for him to run Dunlops instead of Michelins (L&M Ducati). He did well that season, then sucked again the following season. Then the season after that he went back to AMA on the RC51 and sucked there as well. Trying to compare figures with someone who is as hot/cold as B Bostrom is a bad idea, IMHO.

I think is very fair because true Biaggi did come from MotoGP But he had a year off and he had NEVER ridden a superbike. As we all know Superbike riders usually struggle with MotoGP and the same is true for superbike. So Biaggi had NO superbike experience but still commanded a multi million dollar salary.

I dont think respect of the series has anything to do with it. It comes down to performance. Spies and Biaggi both can pull super strong lap time and are both in the top 1% of their series. Biaggi 4time champ, Spies 2 & maybe 3time champ.

Why should Spies settle for less just because he comes from AMA?
