"...it is my only crash with a Ducati in a race..."

Did he crash so hard that he lost some memory and forgot about Laguna?

:-o

MOTOGP » Stoner stoned in Brno

Casey Stoner could have been denied up to 20 points in Brno by a 'perfectly-shaped' gravel stone...

Thankyou Kees, kind of you to say so. If Stoner had had that pace on the Sunday, then he probably would have won, IF his tyres had lasted on the new surface at that pace :), and IF the Ducati was as reliable as it usually is, and IF there wasn't a sudden downpour.......... but IF I'd had Stoner or Rossi's talent, I would have been a world champion too! If only!

someone thought it is the article that crash post in a agitative way , but I think what casey said as the article posted should be what he had said. it is indeed that casey said he lost respect for vale in America, and he thought he was the best rider maybe because he got champion in 2007 (let's look at what's the other riders set-up in 2007)...maybe stoner is still to young and need to learn something regarding to respect people around. the legend in the race need good character for others to study from besides the speed he had, if he has the will to challenge to be another most successful rider,he should start up how to develop his character besides riding bike.

From reading what I presume is the same article as you are referring to Daemon, it states that Stoner said he had lost "some respect" for Rossi, immediately after Laguna, but admitted later that this was a heat of the moment overreaction. If people can admit they were wrong that's what matters, and I haven't lost any respect for Stoner. After a hard hot race, and a disappointing one for him, it's easy to overreact. What matters is that he admitted as such and shook hands. As I stated elsewhere, I sent an apology on behalf of true UK race fans for the booing at Donington, although I doubt he has time to wade through comments on his website.

Kees: The thing is though, even IF Stoner keeps winning every race from now to the end of the season, Rossi can now win the championship with seconds and thirds. Obviously, being a Rossi fan, I'd like Rossi to get the championship back, but I'd like to see it settled before the end of the season, simply so that in the final races Rossi won't have to think of the championship points any more, and we can see racing with just the pride of winning each race at stake.

Motomito, if your man just places it on the podium then he would be a "settler for points" just like hayden. You just want to see a rossi show for the last couple of rounds?

Not at all Steve, but it would be foolish to pretend that any professional racer doesn't think of the championship points situation. I even think Rossi might not have a choice in settling for a second, or third, at a lot of races, but it will be hard to know for certain until the championship is out of the way. He's won enough races this season to show that if he is going to pick up the championship, it won't be by default, whatever happens from now on. I'm sure he'd like to go out and try for the win every time, but he's not stupid.

No professional rider would push to the limit and risk losing a WC, not just for self pride but there's the team/sponsers to think about as well.
Rossi has basically got this one wrapped up but I personally think he has improved as a rider since losing those 2 years in a row, the hunger for success is well and truly back.
Rossi's got the WC to think about but Stoner will still be pushing 110% so should have some good racing hopefully till the end of the season.

I keep hearing things in the media and from posters here to the effect that Rossi has this championship wrapped up. There are six races still to go. Anything can happen. Many things will happen. I'm sure Vale & Casey, are thinking the same thing. It ain't over yet folks! :)
