"...it is my only crash with a Ducati in a race..."

Did he crash so hard that he lost some memory and forgot about Laguna?

Garry - hopefully Jack Mordino will help us out here, I'd like to know how as well. Jack pointed me at Tony Foale and there's a relevant article at: .tonyfoale.com/Articles/Tyres/TYRES.htm ( you have to add the www because Crash doesn't like posting site addresses) which suggests to me that maybe they're going to set the bike up to slide a bit - should be great to watch if that's it. The higher c.g. thing should require a re-design but maybe they played with something there and if so it may also help the Duc in braking duels..

Realistically Take the stone out of the equation I doubt he would have finished with any points. The bike was pretty banged up even if he Duct taped it along the way. He probably could have pit stop and changed bikes if the rules allowed it but that would mean at least half a lap before rejoining and to play catch up. he will probably end up behind Dani Pedrosa. He should thank his lucky charm he did not get hurt and 20 points in Laguna is a bonus. Rossi fell in Assen and got 5 points.

Dorna has agreed and in Misano all Gravel trap will be replaced with Pebbles the size of Bowling Balls for the safety of the Carburetion intake :?

Thanks for the tech info sources Oscar, I'd like to hear more in commentaries like Steve Martin gives in WSBK. Set up is so important these days, as Vale himself laments in an Italian interview on RAI TG3. He reckons it was easier to ride around problems in the past, but perhaps he also meant Stoner! I respect all the riders and don't like to judge anyone I don't know personally. Despite being a Rossi fan, I posted an apology on Stoner's website for the behaviour of my fellow UK fans at Donington. Regarding the auto cut-out issue, didn't Stoner have to bump start? It wasn't clear on the BBC coverage.

“I wasn't meant to have that bike going again. There was a stone caught in the butterflies that could not be a more perfect shape to fit in there, “Stoner told MCN at the conclusion of a two-day test session in Brno.

“If it was another shaped stone - smaller or bigger - it would not have been a problem but it just perfectly jammed itself in there. It was a half-moon shape so that was it, race over.. You couldn't go through that gravel trap and find the right sized stone again. I could have got back on and got some reasonable points.”

That is from the MCN web site. Before writing negative comments try and find the words around the selected sentences found here.

saran careful what you say. The gravel may turn into bowling balls. I'm starting to think you have magical powers with Stoner going down on an easy corner to give Rossi the win and West coming up to qualify well and get his best place ever. Can you use your powers next race to make a 6 way battle for the lead until the last corner.

Oscar good point about potentially also affecting the breaking, but could it also just as easily have a negative effect under braking by raising the CoG

So Ducati now have the rights to gravel causes engine failure, i heard Ducati have penned a two day test in a stone quarry in Wales to iron out any chance of this occouring again!
