Bob, I agree with you about the times being the best pre-race indicator of potential race pace. We will soon find out if it all comes together for him with a bit more data in hand.

As for your comment about the qual tyres. I think they are more about the spectacle. It can be quite exciting to watch & sometimes a rider gets it wrong and it puts them at the back of the grid.

On your other comment, I remember once heard Rossi say he was able to learn something about the bike setup during the qual laps and was able to apply it to bike for race tyres. Could of been a one off though.

Oh boy, do i like to do see Dani mix up with Vale and Casey for a classic warzone-race!!
Its great to see him doing VERY quick laps already, and its great to know that stoner will get an even tougher job to get another championship again! The only thing i want to see is Jorge switching to the japanese rubber, and then were set for 2009! Dont mind if rossi doesnt win the championship, as long as casey doesnt win the way he did in 2007..

I think that Honda decided Nakano's new machine and will decide Pedrosa's new tires because Honda is desperate to win at Motegi, where is owned by Honda.

Hard to put your finger on it but dani just doesn't seem to have champion potential at the moment he seems really low on confidence, and seems to be shrinking.
Lorenzo is by far the better bet and i think michelin will pull out all the stops to keep him on board for next year...he seems to go well on michelins as well.

I never once stated anything that was "low level" or "hypocritical". I merely stated the facts of the thread (in a joking manner since you missed it). I do not come on here bashing people, riders, or teams. It's unfortunate that I have to rubbage through all of the above stated thread stats to find someone who posts something intelligent to read. I enjoy the sport for what it is, yes I have my favs just like everyone else however, I do not need to bash or degrade another rider to make my favorites feel that much more important. Feel free to point something out in my "thread stats" post that is innacurate, please.
