I dont think these test times would be significant on race day in case the sun comes out shining...but the gotta say..all the guys in the top ten(except a few) made most of thier advancements in the last 5 min. really impressive on a new track. Records say 1:43 is the time to beat on dry surface..lets see who all are up for grabs.

forecast is for rain the today 90%, Sat 80%, and Sun 80%.

www.noaa.gov Indianapolis' mailing code is "46241" if you put that in the box in the upper left.

Congrats to Anthony West with some time on top of the board this morning.

Dani will do better with Bridgestones... tomorrow.

Looks set to shake things up a bit!!! Except of course Stoner''s lowside crash! Stoner looks to be in usual form already (fast on and off the wheels)

That wall between REPSOL riders appears to be working. It''s gotta be very frustrating for Dani...and any gains in confidence on the Bridgestone tires is likely lost for Dani in the rain.

from the US weather service...

ON SUNDAY...REMNANTS OF HURRICANE IKE ARE EXPECTED TO BE PUSHING
TOWARD INDIANA...BRINGING MORE CHCS FOR RAIN. AT THAT TIME...A CD
FRONT WL ALSO BE APPROACHING FROM THE NW. AS TROPICAL MOISTURE
SURGES NE AHEAD OF THE FRONT...ABUNDANT RAIN...HEAVY AT TIMES...CAN
BE EXPECTED.

Go Westy! The booky obviously didn't check weather forecast when posting odds. I've got money on him to be fastest this afternoon at 400 to 1!

Good ride Westy.....Bet Kawasaki wish every race was at a new track and in the rain !!
Glad to see Hayden ahead of Pedrosa, just to give it to Honda.
Next FP should be interesting, I am sure Rossi will climb the ladder again as will a few others.

Superbikeplanet:
"Reigning world champion Casey Stoner crashed late in this morning's MotoGP practice session but walked away unhurt. Stoner crashed over the front of the Ducati, landing on his chin and chest. It happened so quickly he was unable to put his arms out to brace himself for the impact--which in retrospect was a good thing, what with his injured wrist. He then rolled with the crash."
