Tyke, I am a Stoner fan, but that doesn't stop me wanting to see Hayden kick some next year.

I want to see Nicky challenge for the championship on the Ducati with RACE WINS- to erase the taint that his '06 championship was the result of pointscoring, not performance.

I want to see Nicky beat Pedrosa & rub his little nose in it.

But most of all I want to see Nicky humiliate the Repsol/Honda/Michelin team.

Those w*^kers have destroyed GP racing from "special" tyres for Doohan to maintain his dominance, to pushing out Nastro Azzuro & Movistar as big time sponsors, to Honda manipulating the tech regs (990's & 800, killing off 250's) to their advantage.

Go Nicky, rub their noses in it!

nicky is a nice guy , but he cant blame 2 years of mediocre results on dani. enough already. 2007 and 2008 are being pathetic for a world champ, even for a not dominant one

I think two things are clear now. One, that Nicky only signed his Honda contract in the middle of 2006 so they would continue to support him in his run for the championship. It was clear even then that he was not the favorite son and I question whether HRC would have given him the support he needed to win that very close and dramatic championship if he had not re upped.
Two, Honda screwed the pooch with their 800. The RC211V was undoubtedly the best bike of the 990 era. Anyone was competitive and had a chance to podium when riding that bike. The RC212V has achieved pretty dismal results so far, all those bikes on the grid and only four wins, all by Pedrosa.

HRC sounds like an impersonal, generally ****** place to be. I'm glad Nicky is getting out of there for a ride on the big red bike. He'll be respected and appreciated at Ducati, hopefully he adapts the quirky GP8.

To Gary Bullock: You're completely ignorant, Honda is NOT one of the best bikes this year :?

Nicko... Hayden will only get to ride teh GP9 :-)

Whoever signs at REPSOL Honda next season will undoubtly be:
a) *Terrible* at developing the bike properly
b) able to get the best equipment possible from HRC
c) pointing to podium finishes
d) in the shade of a hot umbrella girl

Mrs. P

(oh, you'll have to add "for my son Dani" to the end of a-c for it to be true)

You will find that Ducati ditches riders at a higher rate and easier than HRC, I'm not so sure if it is a better place to be. They want Nicky to improve their US sales and that is ofcourse totally legitimate. It remains to be seen if Hayden gets along with the red bike as good as some people expect him to,
His motivation will no doubt be higher than ever and you'll be hard pressed to find a guy that puts more energy in trying to make something work. Good luck to him I say

Genki... I don't think that Dovi will be allowed to "blow dani into the weeds" although he could be capable of doing it. For the public there will be no team order for sure but if he beats Pedrosa then the midget will start to cry and Dovi's bike will have some chatter problem, engine failure or if all these won't work they will simply come up with the idea to give Kenko tyres to Dovi... :-)

Nicko

I am puzzled by your comment about the Honda. It was leading the world championship at the start of the year it is now 3rd after Dani was injured. so it is the 3rd best bike Honda is actually 3rd 5th and 8th in the top ten. Ducati has one Bike in the top 10. Yamaha also has 3. That to me makes it one of the Best bikes? I might add they also have the biggest budget.

I didn't realise Ducati had the biggest budget but I'm not surprised they moved a large amount of resources away from WSBK when they were aloud to run a special alongside the standard road bikes... just shows they are lacking direction with their current riders and I cannot see Nicky improving that situation...

Motomad Huh?

Honda has the Biggest Budget followed by Yamaha, Ducati has one of the smallest of the factories and also the smallest engineering facilties.?
The Japanese even own their own circuits so you don't even see or her a lot of their testing
