Tyke, I am a Stoner fan, but that doesn't stop me wanting to see Hayden kick some next year.

I want to see Nicky challenge for the championship on the Ducati with RACE WINS- to erase the taint that his '06 championship was the result of pointscoring, not performance.

I want to see Nicky beat Pedrosa & rub his little nose in it.

But most of all I want to see Nicky humiliate the Repsol/Honda/Michelin team.

Those w*^kers have destroyed GP racing from "special" tyres for Doohan to maintain his dominance, to pushing out Nastro Azzuro & Movistar as big time sponsors, to Honda manipulating the tech regs (990's & 800, killing off 250's) to their advantage.

Go Nicky, rub their noses in it!

I think he'll do great on a Ducati. Maybe even better than Stoner.....

Way too much hope. Not taking anything away from NH but CS took 10 wins outright in 2007 to win the Championship. And CS is still blitzing the field with 4 wins this year and setting pole records. He is still a force to reckon with even for Rossi. Do not want to Dampen your dreams and Fantasies but realistically have you looked at it another way.

Maybe even worse than Melandri

while the rest of the manu were developing the 800 and still running the 990 Ducati managed to 100% their 800. Now all the manu on 800. its looking a little more even. Duc won 07 not sure will keep winning.

I wish him to do better than Melandri but NH is an "Old School" guy and he doesn't like to rely too much on the electronics/driver aid while Stoner is the master of the TC. Since the Ducati is developed for Stoner needs and has very advanced electronics/TC who knows how Nicky will perform... I remember there were some races where he was faster with TC turned down. So he can also be another Melandri but let's hope he won't be and also Marco can perform better on the Kawa. He has the talent/skills and it would be hard for him to underperform this year's results...

Saran it's pretty much impossible to do worse than Melandri. Have you ever actually watched the way Nicky races? He is good and has a lot of control. IMO slightly less consistent than Stoner but I think he'll be up there. And as for the Duc, the GP9 was faster than the GP8 back when they tested it, and if you'll recall, the main reason the GP8 was slow in the beginning was because they tried to make it a compromise between Melandri and Stoner's styles. Then they upgraded it before Catalunya. Stuff it I might actually put a bet down on Nicky for next year.

Top 4, beats Pedrobot

Mr Happy Tortoise, you could be on the money. Stoner consistently rides the fastest line at the fastest possible pace (or slightly more too often lately) while NH is a bit more old-school 'slow in - fast out' style, feeling the whole corner through. Not quite as fast but a bit more adaptable, especially if the tyres are slightly progressive in their grip degradation. A fairly ideal rear-gunner to Stoner in perfect conditions and very handy in the scrappy stuff and if he's in front of any HRC bike that's gonna be one wiiiide Ducati. And if Stoner isn't on his best pace I think NH will step up to the plate quite well, thank you very much. Puig is going to remember who he was.

He shouldn't joke about Aprilia in WSB - he isn't good enough to make jokes about factory WSB rides for a start. One bad season on the Duke and he'll be looking at WSB for 2010. He better hope Aprilia staff have short memories...

Man some of you guys are negative - why on earth would Aprilia take offence at that remark? It's hardly denigrating them - in fact if anything it's a compliment. BTW *does* anyone on here know who the Aprilia riders for next year are ? I've not seen them announced?

Racing results are much more complex than a few common denominators, such as riding style, tyre/tire grip, accuracy of the electronic controls, bike development and so on. Therefore, when you consider that the total of all these result in a sum of no net gain advtange for Nicky with Honda, when considering 1)the bike was not developed for his riding style, but specificaly PedroPetite 2) the Michelin's are fighting an uphill battle advantage against Bridgestone that their own over confidence will take some time to regain level variety of good gripin a variety of track conditions, so tire grip has been a big factor for the slide on the gas style that Hayden has acheived his best results on,

3) Honda's historic technical superiority in regards to electronic controls is a mute point when Ducati's top speed and Yamaha's acceleration are considered, they don't rival or increase the Honda's ability significantly, though if your rider is lighter and can maintain forward inertia like a 250 rider does, the Honda can be competitive at times.I.e. traction control can only help so much when the tire 's ability to maintain traction is the root cause limiting factor. I've worked with Nicky, Colin, tire engineers, and teams and know that Nicky has the talent such taht on the Ducati he can and will be a threat to the top 3, recognizing that Rossi a phenomenal talent who can ride..

over and above any misgivings of his equipment like no other, Casey is also a young talent whom we've not seen his peak yet, though as of recently benefited from the best combination of bike development, tires, controls and team support. When a rider receives lagging support from his team, IT does directly affect his ability and confidence to compete at his best-this is also an additional factor that Nicky has been facing unfairly from HRC. HRC has a history of usurpping very good riders in search of the "for sure bet" and though they value and expect loyalty from their riders', they have made some very poor short term decision with long term negative effects and still expect that those
