Amazing figures, already 11 years at the forefront of motorsport!
It would be wonderful if he could clinch this one with a win :)

With reference to Stoner:
• If Stoner wins the race then Rossi needs to finish 3rd or better.
• If Stoner comes 2nd then Rossi needs to finish 8th or better.
• If Stoner finishes 3rd then Rossi needs to finish 12th or better.
• If Stoner finishes 4th then Rossi needs to finish in any point scoring position.
• When Stoner crashes Rossi can pull into the pits and enjoy a pizza!

just joking! fortunately, I dont think Stoner is the type to give up, as he has proven already he would rather crash than come 2nd! Hoping for Rossi to lift the title but also really want some close racing on Sunday! Rossi vs Stoner vs Lorenzo vs Pedrosa... how 2008 should really have been! :)

[EDIT: pants spelling!]

VR has only won at Motegi twice in his career, making it one of his least successful circuits. I predict a 3rd place finish.

Anyone who thinks that Rossi cannot do well at Motegi because of his prior history had better look at the racing that is currently going on. Especially with Casey and him. They seem to pull away by 20 or more seconds to the tune where Casey falls at Laguna mounts and still remained at the same position. I don't see them not doing the same at this track. Those 2 are in a different class right now. I expect them to do just that again.

I expect Dani Pedrosa up there too, especially in the dry.

Who thinks Capirossi is on for a podium or better still, the win? Ok,he was on the Duke but the track seems to work for him too, plus weather could play its part,3 win streak at Motegi is not to be sniffed at

I wanna say Rossi will bring it home in 2nd or 3rd, and be crowned WC. But than looking how he rode since Laguna, I think he just wants to win it, because he can. Becasue he enjoys racing, to duke it out.
He has nothing left to prove anymore - he done it all. He is the GOAT.
So my prediction it will be a battle, and he want take it easy. But I expect Stoner to go flat out. He will be strong.
My prediction: Stoner for the win, Rossi a close second, and a great battle

Too bad the "racing' this year has been sadly missing in Moto GP. It was one of the reasons I stopped following F1: boring races. Not to take away anything from Rossi, but having the only other front runner consistantly crash out is hard to get excited about. And when Stoner wasn't crashing those two were so far ahead of the rest of the field, the rest of the grid shouldn't have bothered lining up. Much better racing these days at World Superbikes
