A true living legend in the world of bike racing, and still with more to give.

Greatest ever? No question, no one can touch him, he is the greatest overall package ever to race motorcycles. Talent, determination, charisma, you name it, he has it. Also well done to Stoner for showing some humility at last, and congratulating Valentino. Well done to Yamaha, all the crew and Valentino. Bring on 2009!! Go Vale!

I would still like to see Vale do the triple - join Ducati before he retires and win another WC. :)

I am just so glad to be able to witness this golden time in Motogp, Vale defo the goat:)_
With George, Danny, Casy and vale all fighting for the crown in the next couple of years it sure has to be the best era for a long time.

We should all be happy with our hero's and rejoice in the talent this field of riders has, all we need now is a few more riders to fill the grid up and it would be perfect

A switch to Ducati would mean having to leave his team behind and he doesn't want that,
the people around him are an integral part of his racing career.
It may be an Italian dream but I don't think it's ever going to happen.

Nah it wont happen. The timing was just never right. He and Casey are both confident boys and would welcome each other as teammates, but sticking 2 top riders/drivers together as teammates often gets messy. Sometimes it works, but teams generally avoid it. Having said that, Lorenzo should be even stronger next year so Yamaha will likely be in that situation. It'll be interesting to see how the relationships evolve.

Vale has a good thing going at Yamaha, and as a fan I like the top riders bein on different machines.

The Golden er of MotoGP was 2000-2006. End of discussion.

Now however, the Legend Valentino will continue and make an even greater legacy over the next couple of years, and when he is gone, there better be damn a good man to fill the space after him!!

Congratiolations Valentino, Mr.MotoGP
