A good bunch of highly rated pensioned veterans taking probably loads of money out of Chinese pockets, it sounds good to me, whatever the results might be. We've seen Loncin coming in 125cc GP this season, having been sold a 5 yr-old Malaguti as a good basis by another bunch of European smart guys (Italian team and Belgian engineer for Loncin, British team and Dutch engineer for Maxtra) and their bike is probably level with an average Honda RS by now, so Maxtra, with more deep funding and probably a more experienced and professional team, should be soon close to standard Aprilias. I don't expect them to challenge the factory Piaggio bikes though, but it's good for the sport anyway.

Ho hummm....

Nice little story about a small team being helped by Harris to compete at World Championship level.

Wouldn't it be good if you could develop your own chassis from scratch, being innvovate and pushing new boundaries- and then just 'buy' a competetive, fast, reliable engine?

Wait a minute?

What if you could buy a customer 600 4-stroke engine and run it in a supporting series to Moto GP?

Actually have it as a stepping stone, maybe even instead of 250's?

Then Harris et al could devlop chassis for 125's and the new 250 style class AND be competetive.

Sound better, all you doubters out there?

Trust me, the 600 series will work!! :)

We were at Donington last week when the team were testing, any times would have been pretty much of no use as the track was very wet most of the time, Matt Hoyle did continue testing during lunch on a drying track, but from what we saw never went to slicks, opting to stay on wets throughout.

Great to see some new faces in the paddock. Lets hope it can give Aprilia a run. One thing though, aren't two strokes being fazed out over the next few years?

Matty Hoyle strikes me as a young man who should be in GPs anyway. I don't know if this is the best way for him to do it, but I hope he gets his chance soon however he manages it.

It took Honda a few years to become competitive in motorsport when they started. I don't expect Loncin to do much in the first season, but they have so much potential...

Don't underestimate the Chinese... remember everyone laughing about the "Japcr@p" in the '60's and '70's? (no... me neither, and if ya can well done for managing to turn on your kids computer!) China's set to be the next world superpower, nd with that comes investment and results! :)

I hope Matthew Hoyle gets the ride.
Would be nice to see a rider get into GP''s, of which is given on merit rather than how deep your bank ballance goes.
Been outstanding in this year''s BSB races and nobody else in UK GP125s on the same level at present.
