good to see ducati put 5 bikes on the grid but why waste one on sete if you can't do it the first time sitting it out for 2 years won't really help his cause bring up a young rider or give sylvain another chance yes the sponsor has a big say in who rides but it is in no one's intrest to see another bike running around in the back half of the pack
cheers zaptrav

Me too Morgue. As much as I like Edwards I think he needs to step aside now & get some youth in MotoGP

You are right zaptrav but sponsorship is vital to maintain the series. The biggest travesty is Aspar having finance and those idiots at Kawasaki saying no because they wanted a jap rider, 'course not enough to put one on in the first place.. If spain puts up the money then they can have the riders. I'd be pretty pisssed if a scottish company put up the money and didn't give the bike to a qualified scotsman, Nail McKenzie comes to mind...oh there I've drifted off again...

What is the fascination of the hallowed younger rider's!! The grid is full of them this year (hopper,de puniet, melandri, west, de angelis, elias, etc etc) where are they all? fighting for last place.. You need talent and sete is one of the rider's that has proven (in the past) he has the skill to fight at the front. If the likes of Cappi, vermulan, even Hayden still have rides then Sete is more than capable of running with or infront of them. His first target is stoner/hayden. I await the test with glee

again? that set vr scrapo?

have you been watching or most of you have got the yellow glasses on?
sete has the line there, rossi went too deep inside and he outbraked himself. even rossi admitted that he outbraked himself, but he had one excuse.... "that is racing".... mamola, and even burgess agreed that rossi outbraked himself. without sete, rossi wuld end up in the gravel. but most rossi fans would rather believe in rossi's "phenomenal braking sklll", even believing that he brakes beyond the tires' adhesion capability...

haahhhh...

the most "neutral point of view was made by schwann, he said, "i think sete closed the door, but it was not locked. rossi barged in......"

but the point is, without sete as his "brake" rossi would have ended in the gravel, some riders have been penalized by using it, rossi was not. most rossi fans would blame sete "for being there", but if you are a racer, you would know the unwritten rule about who has the right to the "racing line". the rider who has the first establishes the line owns it, any rider can steal the line (go inside) as long as he does it cleanly and does not endanger the other rider who must then will be forced to concede the line. but PUNTING a rider to get the line is not a clean move, and must be penalized. i was shocked when i saw it, knowing rossi is such a "sportsman". a "low blow", so to speak.

who knows if he was faking or not? u guys dont thats for sure. who hear has been hit by a handle bar at full speed. id imagine it might sting.

we dont know if he was hurt. so infairness, us and VR should of presumed he was. but if he thought he was faking then he should of been the bigger man and quietly taken the trophy like a world champion

but he didnt.

those are the facts. im afraid to say

Rossi great world champ tho

lanski that was ages ago...ya big stirrer you.
Interesting topic though a bit like penalty calls or offsides in footy. All i would add is to say hard but fair...just! I dont buy into Rossi being exempt from rules as he has been on the recieving end a few times P.I,Quatar and motegi spring to mind recently. Those two were so hyped for that race (jerez)that something dramatic was always going to happen! maybe the fairest would've been for both riders to fall then see who got back on quickest!!

Surely that nice Mr Martinez should try and gain the services of Edgar Jessop, even the spanish sponsors would be happy to have him in their colours, he would show that young pup Gibernau how its done :)

sete's fault is not locking the door. he and rossi has lots of nice, clean dices. and he has no way of knowing that rossi is coming straight thru. anyway, with such fierce competitors, such things will always happen. just tired of having rossetes think of their IDOL being flawless, "phenomenal braking prowess" and all. i saw the race and there was no "phenomenal braking prowess" is involved.
