All the REAL experts out there (Mamola, Doohan, Schwantz etc) said the Jerez move was hard but completely fair, but then again they know nothing compared to the armchair critics on here right? Mocker (the return of Cowan agan... sigh) and Dawkwaknight will get a dig in at Rossi at every opportunity so take it with a pinch of salt...

As the Rossi rans will defend anything to do with there idol. The same people that said rossi lost in 07 because of crap tyres?? the same 'crap' tyres that danni beat him on.. This is a forum for people's opion's if we all agreed there would be no forum. Opinion is subjective to your point of view as the above comment will be seen by rossi fan's as a dig on untrue because of rah rah, but the history books will say 1st Stoner
2nd Danni
3rd Rossi

Nothing can change fact.. no matter how hard you squint!

gibernau is a test rider now and has retired because he could not cope with the mental part of the racing when he was being beaten and blamed the bike or tyres. It is no point going on about him taking on the likes of rossi and stoner as he will be miles behind. Test riders often put in good lap times when testing because there on an open track but when its comes to the race they fail which is what will happen to Gibs. No test rider has competed with the top rider when given a chance look how good aoki did last week.

One of the things i like about Motogp is the characters Stoner,Rossi,Lorenzo et al all have their own strong character as does Gibbers because as much as its about motogp racing its also about entertainment and you get that when you have big personalities in a sport. I cant wait for 09 now!!

I view Rossi laughing at Gibernau's hurt arm in the same light as some of the others here. I think Rossi was calling his bluff. Had he actually been hurt I don't think Rossi would have made a joke about it. I think it was just another way to get into his mind.

If he was truely a poor sportsman he probably wouldn't have called Elias to wish him a speedy recovery on his broken leg (not long after he criticized him about riding dangerously). Elias even said that 'people that he thought weren't his friends called him to wish him luck', or something to that effect.

gibernau is still a racer 2stroke eddie (great name!) and i expect him to get good parts from the factory, dont forget he was the only one who could consistently challange rossi for two years. I expect him to be top 5 competitive.

Layton cant see him in the top ten myself 2 years out of racing and you loose that killer instinct. Too many young guns out there for him to cope with and I really believe he cant cope mentally with racing this is why he retired If you read archives he also blamed his divorce as part of the reasons he couldnt race anymore but he lost that instinct to win and once you loose that it rarely comes back. Especially when riders ten years younger blast past.
