I can''t understand why Tech3 weren''t there. I would have thought they would need to test even more than the guys already on Bridgestones. Sounds like they have a good tyre if it can do 40 consistent laps.

Maybe they will further reduce the tyre grip after seeing a faster lap timing in

various tracks..I really didn't want that to happen..It's always too soon to tell..

Comparing the two days times together with all of the other issues involved is guess work at best.

I don't think this single tyre thing is going to do any harm at all for the average Joe! With comments like:
"so tyres will have to operate within a wider working range with a greater level of durability." &
"Some riders put up to 40 laps on the same set of tyres with great consistency which was particularly impressive."
I recon Bridgestone will have some pretty good rubber on the market in the next 6 months or so? Guess the nest set of slippers I put on the Trumpy will be Bridgestones!
And of course, doesn't look like it's going to do any harm on the track either!

Also of note: (at the end) continuing developement...

Ok the competition for development has gone but surely Bridgestone developing a tyre that works similarly for a variety of machines is just as good as developing technology for individual bikes? with regards to tyre progress filtering down to road use for example. I wont turn up to the dealer with my RR and get a tyre technician developing me a specific tyre, or sitting in my garage checking road temperatures, humidity, air temp, distance of my journey so i have the right rubber for my ride! so a "multi bike" tyre development, if you like, will not nececarily be a bad thing for us guys on the road wanting a decent set of shoes!

From the race side of things it will be more competition between teams to build the best machine... They are given the same tools to stick them to the circuit so now the brains need to give the riders the equipment that makes the most of what is available. All in all i dont think its a bad thing and looks to be off to a good start. I guess 2009 will tell us more!

Scratch, Paul...also I note that Rossi and Stoner had good words to say about the tyres. I wonder when they were developed? Nearly everyone was fast on them and I bet Suzuki wish they had them earlier in the season.

We're now in the single tyre supplier era so why hasn't the sky fallen yet?

So they've reduced maximum grip to improve safety. Sure sounds like progress to me.. :?
