4 years ago you wouldnt have seen a top IRL driver switching to CCWS, and you wouldnt see it now. Rossi wouldnt move to a lesser series, you might think its better racing etc but worldwide MotoGP is king.

Rossi has put in some good times, and thats great considering Massa was still screwing up in Mid March having driven without TC for months it shows Rossi has done well.

Still, we can't say he would be good in F1 - hes never overtaken somebody.

Well, considering this was already Rossi's 5th time in the ferrari, i found Sebastion Loeb's performance far more impressive. But test drives in F1 are very difficult to judge anyway...

Schumacher was 5 seconds off the pace on a Moto GP motorcycle (Ducati) and he rides lower spec superbike bikes - in races and has been doing riding on tracks for 7 years privately.

Rossi is driving an F1 car, he is so far 1.5 seconds off the pace on day 1, with his best ever time being 1 second off the pace in his previous test which equalled David Coulthard's lap time who was there on the same day, on the same track but in a RedBull.

Rossi is unique in his abilty to adapt to multiple sports.
(Bikes, Rally, F1). Rally he came 2nd, and before 1st.

In comparison Schumi has done one race and came last, and also fell off.

Well said James Anderson, and let us not forget that he's only 1.5 seconds off kimi's ultimate lap record in the same car and Kimi had a much warmer track back in september which has a huge impact on the time. Forza Vale

how do you know there was no traction control,it's easy to add with a laptop and how much, and what fuel had he in it. and if all his fans think he,s so fantastic why are farrari not trying to sign him.the guy's only out for a bit of fun and some publicty leave it at that.

They offered him a ride in '06 but he chooses to stay with bikes. An outing like this shows what potential he has, setting times like that in just a handful of laps. Had he signed he would have been completely focused.
