The Alice team is a satellite team - like every other manufacturer, the kit and support is never up to the same level as the factory team.
Why do certain people seem to delight at having a pop at Ducati? At least the Alice team started the season with 2008 bikes identical to the works team. Why didn't Elias win then? Honda has been supplying their satellite teams with the 2007 machine.
Ducati is a small operation without the resources of the Japanese factories and as such has done extremely well. Next season, there will be 5 Ducati's on the grid. From Suzuki and Kawasaki, only 2 each. Nuff said.
Elias has never been that hot on anything & it's a case of a poor workman blaming his tools :rol

Barros' case was even worse, he was told not to overtake the works Ducati.
Ofcourse that situation was hard to maintain in '08 with Marco trailing the field...

Really? Seems like Ferrari really have infiltrated Ducati :rolleyes:

Good to see people are not critical of Elias, well almost everyone. I recall someone calling him dangerous, I am surprised the groupies have not waged war against him.

Does the Tech 3 Yamaha team get the same level of support as the Fiat team?

How about the non factory Hondas? Do thay get the same level of support as the Repsol team. IIRC The only reason they were given a full factory bike this year was to test the Bridgestone tyres for Pedrosa.

Did we hear people complain about that? Nope, they whine about Ducati because of Stoner.

These anti Ducati responses are typical from the Rossi groupies on this board. I bet if Rossi was on the Duc it would be a different story.

Elias has to be the most dissapointing rider in Motogp. Claims the "parts dissappeared" are absolute rubbish, he has a proven history of bludging as soon as his new contract is signed.
And as far as a "factory bike" goes - good luck Tony! ask Marco what Honda provides vs what is promises to satellite teams. They are a bunch of .........s.

Gresini was receiving new parts from the factory because the factory-biaggi was strugling in front of rossi,the only man from honda who had the chance to win the doctor was gibernau-and he was helped by the factory,,gibernau gone..melandri showed no competition to the title and gresini waked up a simple satelite team.And in this case if elias will not show good results he will not get some new parts in summer..anyway good luck,,we all need good competitiveness in front there..i'm sure next season will be fun to watch!

Geoff Wright, you do like to generalise don't you? I'm not a Rossi "groupie" but Ducati treat people terribly sometimes. Look what they did to Capirosi... Their golden boy, until Casey came along and they dumped him after one lousy season... Why do you think anybody that makes an anti-Ducati remark is a Rossi groupie?

Ducati did give the private teams equal equipment at season start and an upgrade to factory spec in the second half, that's more than Ive seen Honda do in seasons past.
If Barros or Toni showed at any stage they were a realistic title chance then maybe they could complain about not getting enough factory support, but they haven't been anywhere near fast or consistent enough (on ANY bike). Also, how much was D'antin a factor in this - Hoffman said he was a nightmare to work with.

Its a phenomenal effort by a small factory to be fielding 4 bikes and propping up grid numbers, and in a season where they were struggling even with their number one combo I'm afraid thats life Toni.

I love how the Ducatista drop out of the trees whenever there is a shread of critisim directed at a Ducati machine. If they for a minute opened thir other eye things would become much clearer.
Just watch what happens when I say that they had to cheat (+200cc) to make a compettiive superbike!!!

@GM - I currently ride a BMW so I am officially neutral here. Ducati didn't cheat. They simply complied with a rule change which allowed the extra 200cc. Now as to who was behind the rule change ....... ??? This rule change should allow my new (on order) KTM RC8 to get into WSBK in 2010 as well, so I happen to think it's a great change. Surprised Aprilia went to a four cylinder though!!

belly, as you astutely said "who was behind the rule change?" As you hint it is accepted fact that Ducati blackmailed the rule change thru. So it is just semantics to argue that they were only "following the rules". Bottom line is they make an inferior performing machine cc for cc and need more cubes to be competitive. I've heard all the arguements before about twins deserve this and that but it's all rubbish. If so why is there not different rules for v4's v inline 4's etc etc.

Sorry to all for highjacking the thread, but the ducatista rubbish annoys me & many.

PS - I also ride a beemer (amongst others) so I'm neutral as well
