Casey for sure is an unique character.. Somehow he can ride that Ducati like demon, blazingly fast & focused (well, not until Valentino screw his "head" at Laguna Seca)..

Well deserved position, quite realistic I would say.. Return in 2009 with full strength Casey, and more mature.. Nobody is perfect!

And for my dearest loeb, please get ur self a life.. Yes, Stoner undoubtly fast.. But to say he is the Michael Schumasher and Loeb of Motogp is completely wrong..

He has to beat Rossi's record before the people out there recognize him as the greatest ever, which is:
a. 8 times world champion
b. Get himself an underdog bike and win the championship

Hmmm. Is this deserved? Not really. Throwing it away in 3 consecutive rounds after be unable to cope with the pressure, and then coming out with some very creative excuses. Just shows how much the aussies love Casey I guess.

When they reduce the level of electronics the bikes are allowed to run, Casey will be ******.

I think he deserves his 2nd place... only one to regularly take the fight to Rossi.

Of course he deserves this place. Casey is currently the second best in world (by a not very big margin). With more luck next year he could again be world champion. The Duke may, or may not, be his savior but he is still the only one one who can tame it. I don't think he would have won the championship on another bike but I also think nobody else will win the world championship on the Ducati (for for the next few years at least). It is a marriage made in heaven.

Now who will be No1? my money is on Melandri :)

I'm surprised he got 2nd, by reading posts here on Crash.net over the last year I thought the poor kid wasn't even going to make the top 10.
Love him or hate him he is mighty quick and exciting to watch, beating your team mate by 229 points isn't too bad an effort with 3 DNF's thrown in.
I am just hoping he will be a bit more consistent in 2009 and zip it when things are going bad. Let's see if any of the new 4 GP9 riders can master the Ducati.
