Casey for sure is an unique character.. Somehow he can ride that Ducati like demon, blazingly fast & focused (well, not until Valentino screw his "head" at Laguna Seca)..

Well deserved position, quite realistic I would say.. Return in 2009 with full strength Casey, and more mature.. Nobody is perfect!

And for my dearest loeb, please get ur self a life.. Yes, Stoner undoubtly fast.. But to say he is the Michael Schumasher and Loeb of Motogp is completely wrong..

He has to beat Rossi's record before the people out there recognize him as the greatest ever, which is:
a. 8 times world champion
b. Get himself an underdog bike and win the championship

As to the Rossi Yam of 04...

Yes Yamaha did the engineering to improve the bike but the imput came from Rossi & to say that bike was the best out there (or even close to it) is utter tosh.

THE NEXT PLACED YAM WAS ABE IN 10TH.. YET THERE WERE 5 HONDA'S IN THE TOP 8!!!

I am a big fan of Rossi & of Racing (so i also appreciate other riders)..

Maybe you Fanboys should d the same!!!

great rider...however he has to learn how to handle defeat,watching him winge after laguna seca made me think he is not the complete package...wipe your eyes mate...

I agree Fast Jack, Stoner is a very good rider but his comment after the race and not shake the hand of Rossi at Laguna Seca was for me a reason to respect Stoner alot less (also I don't forget the kicking, shaking head, arm waves to other riders on the track during practise and qualify)

You can view Stoner's Laguna Seca post-race tantrum in two ways: you can look at it asjust unsporting wingeing but you can also look at it as the reaction of a rider who wants to win badly and is thoroughly pissed off when he gets beaten (and isn't too good at hiding it).

Not a smart thing to do, as it handed Rossi a massive pscological edge over him, but I'd rather see someone thoroughly pissed off at losing a close race than Pedrosa's "It wasn't possible to win today but it's good to be on the podium" type approach.

faster... I agree. Although I don't believe it was professional, I do think it was a heat of the moment act and it is a side of his character that he will control better in the future.

Excluding Rossi and Mick Doohan, Casey put up the best title defence in a long time - remember the forgettable attempts from Hayden, Roberts, and Criville. 6 wins and 11 podiums is not a bad way to hand the title back to the undisputed master of the decade.
