Casey for sure is an unique character.. Somehow he can ride that Ducati like demon, blazingly fast & focused (well, not until Valentino screw his "head" at Laguna Seca)..

Well deserved position, quite realistic I would say.. Return in 2009 with full strength Casey, and more mature.. Nobody is perfect!

And for my dearest loeb, please get ur self a life.. Yes, Stoner undoubtly fast.. But to say he is the Michael Schumasher and Loeb of Motogp is completely wrong..

He has to beat Rossi's record before the people out there recognize him as the greatest ever, which is:
a. 8 times world champion
b. Get himself an underdog bike and win the championship

The thing I admire about Casey is that he's purely about the racing, and doesn't care what people think, or try to make the fans happy. He's young, and will learn to handle himself better for the sake of minimizing the energy he spends dealing with the overzealous media who like to hype things up for the sake of headlines, not because he's worried about being popular.

He's the sort of guy who'd just as happily race in front of a crowd of 10 people, as he would 100,000 people. I like Rossi, and he's done alot for the popularity of MotoGP, but personally I don't care for the 'rock star' status he so enjoys. I'm not the idolizing type. I watch MotoGP because I love racing.

RXRacer... I never said it was the worst thing that was done! I wasn't having a pop at Casey for it either merely stating that it wasn't professional (which it wasn't, and hes nto the first or last.) but I can understand reasons why it happened (which I can!), but as Fromage mentioned, he apologised publicly so fair play to him.

You also quoted my post in a way to show it in a different light than it was meant. The remainder of the post is:

"...I do think it was a heat of the moment act and it is a side of his character that he will control better in the future."

Back to the subject, deserved 2nd place. I think the top spots will be harder to come by in 09 for all riders!

Both Rossi and Stoner deserves no 1 and 2 I just wished that there could have been more battles between them like Laguna.

Next year will hopefully deliver.

1st group of fighters:
Rossi and Stoner and maybe Pedrosa

2nd group, chance of wins
Lorenzo, Hayden, Dovi

3rd group, chance of podiums
Kallio, Gibernau, Edwards, Toseland, Elias and maybe Vermulen

I apologize if that's how you interpreted my comments. All i was saying was that rider disputes are just part of racing. Furthermore, riders from different teams are not contracted to act in each others interests, so any disputes they have cannot technically be described as unprofessional. Unprofessional behavior was Puig's comments about Hayden recently (and to a lesser extent Pedeosa's). As members of the same team, regardless of how you feel, you just don't do that.

As usual the subject is Casey but some people see fit to start slagging other riders off, Casey is a deserved no 2, the facts prove it! as for Melandri being faster than West, Do all the no it alls think the bike has not had some development? could they do better than West?
:)

Yes, Casey may have acted immaturely a few times. But there is one person in MotoGP who lashes out more than Casey. That person is your average Rossi fangirl. When she sees her champion under threat, she goes ballistic.
