It was great to be at laguna seca to see the battle of he year. Rossi not only out raced Stoner, he proved to all the non-believers that he has a ton of fun still winning and battling in this sport of Motogp. Cant wait for the 2009 season to begin. :)

Loeb, Maybe you could also ask how a guy with only 2 poles and a single fastest lap secured the title, within a team that took the team title, and for a manufacturer that took the manufacturers title. Oh and scored the most points in one season beating Stoners massive points haul of 2007, and never finished out of the points! theres more to a season than a fast lap on saturday and a fast lap on sunday.

Then you would rank him behind Dovi with 0 poles, 0 fastest laps, 0 wins and 1 podium! I think Dovi did a great job but you flawed your logic in your own argument! hahaha Tool!

Maybe you should stick to rallying as more than one revolution of a circuit seems to have you baffled :D

Pole positions and fastest laps don't win races!

If you can't perform on the day then they mean jack!

Rossi 100% greatest!! Well deserves the number one spot in my opinion and i'm sure i'm not alone :)

Rarely do we see one as great as Rossi, the combination of brilliant talent, amazing skill, a great mind, and a charming personality. In my book one of the greatest of all time, both on and off the track.

I disagree, Pedrosa was not voted because of his manager Puig''s comments. That and Pedrosa''s bashing of Nicky Hayden who although not the fastest rider is amoung one of the most "liked" riders in the paddock.

Pedrosa is no doubt one of the most talented riders but his actions/words which are mostly guided by Puig are what prevent him from being a champion and if he were to win a champion no where near as loved as Rossi. Even good guy Stoner never gained the fan base Rossi had when he wasn''t winning.

At this level there''s more to racing than just racing...these guys are role models!

I could write a book about all the reasons why Rossi is not the best ever rider, number of races per season and wins on road and track circuits by riders like Hailwood and Ago for starters. Rossi did not win the title this year, Stoner lost it, Stoner is a great rider who did not have the best machine early on, was carrying an injury and sadly let Rossie''s mind games get to him, I think 2009 will be different.

ron, i watch motoGP and cannot understand why you say that stoner did not have the best bike early on. i think that the duke was way and above the yamaha and honda. rossi beat stoner fair and square, by better riding, and deserves the accolades. i look forward to reading your book.
