Rossi had a magnificent year and won the WC back in a season that was by no means a foregone conclusion, beating a hard competitor in Stoner by a significant margin. I don't believe there is any one absolute GOAT - it's all relative to the times and the machines - but without doubt Rossi is and will remain as a truly memorable and distinguished champion rider, and I think the best ambassador for the sport we have ever had. Why we all can't just ease back and admire all the guys out there for what they do is beyond me, the aggro and hate isn't necessary and blind fanboy adulation doesn't enhance any rider. Rossi is great, the rest merely good - let it be, enjoy '09..

id like to see that but i realy think that rossi would get beaten to a pulp, not possible for even him, not enough set up time to develop a bike to how he would like it.
