It was great to be at laguna seca to see the battle of he year. Rossi not only out raced Stoner, he proved to all the non-believers that he has a ton of fun still winning and battling in this sport of Motogp. Cant wait for the 2009 season to begin. :)

Dray, you must have a large green giant on your shoulder! I was at Phillip island and Casey did recieve a lot of deserved support but it was very obvious who most people including myself were there to see, G.O.A.T! I do have some contacts (Mechanics) inside moto gp and your comments about Vale being a monster simply don't stack up, in fact the consensus from the pits is Casey has a light switch temper, why don't crash interview some of the mechanics and try and find the facts not just jealous tittle tattle? If Vale moved to WSB he would win easily as would the other to 3 moto gp riders,I would put money on that one! :)

A1 maybe I should not have cut and pasted your post from 17 days ago. Did not realize some people here are not very literate when it comes to English. LOL

Dray, although english is my first language I do not suggest that I am an expert in the English language and certainly not in it's many barstardised forms! so I apologise for not understanding what you are on about, what I did say was your constant referal to Vale as being a monster does not seem to stack up with reality, because of the nature of racing these guy's have to have supreme confidence in them selves and this does come across as arrogance, as for former champions, I have met some including Schwantz and Surtees and both were just average guys who were willing to give me a few minutes of their time, for your information I am also a fan of amongst others Jorge, Dovi and Spies.

Yes, Rossi's results were outstanding in '08 and a deserved champion - or was he???
I can't help stirring the pot:) and wondering what would have been the result if Rossi had been given a ride-thru penaty at Laguna for cutting the Corkscrew (as Hamilton was penalised for the same offence at the French GP)
We'd have had another dominant Stoner win and full of confidence heading into Brno and Rossi with his head done in, looking over his shoulder and wondering what the **** he can do after giving 110% and still losing.........

I have to laugh when I keep hearing Rossi fans claim he is the best ever, forget number of wins etc that is to do with length of time racing and changed circumstances. They obviously never watched racing in the 50s and 60s Geoff Duke was an incredible rider short carear but should that take away from his tallent. Then Mike Hailwood in 66 when he joined Honda he was to go for the 250cc & 350cc while Redman went for the 500cc, unfortunatly into the season Redman crashed and Mike had to take up the 500cc championship as well. If it had not been for bike breakdowns and missed early races Mike would have had all 3 would titles in the one year. So please stop going on about one rider, its sad. :?

Sure lets compare these race incidents-

Hamilton- clearly cuts corner, did not even try to brake, run off is tarmac, 4 wheels, returns to track in front of kimi.
Rossi- runs deep on brakes into corkscrew, run off is sand, two story drop in elevation, 2 wheels, returns to track parallel with stoner.

A ride thru penalty :? christ he should be given a medal for keeping that bike upright.

I agree baja.

My only gripe about the whole thing is if Stoner put that exact move on Rossi, the sheep would have been in an uproar about it.

The pass was balsy, briliant but balsy. Had he lost it in the sand it would have been pretty devastating to both riders. The greater the risk, the sweeter the reward......

Nothing 'brilliant' about that move. 50% desperation and 1000% pure dumb luck. Again, two sets of rules when Rossi is concerned.
